Longxing Temple, also known as the Big Buddha Temple, is located in Zhengding County, Shijiazhuang City. It is a must-see attraction for tourists to Shijiazhuang. The temple was first built in the Sui Dynasty and has been renovated over the generations. It is now one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved temples in the country. Longxing Temple is not very famous today, but it was a temple that was highly valued by the royal family in history. There are Bodhisattva statues built by Emperor Taizu of Song Dynasty, Zhao Kuangyin, and footprints, handwritten inscriptions and plaques of emperors of the Qing Dynasty. It has a very high status and many pilgrims will pray here. In the temple, you can also see many precious cultural relics and treasures, ancient-style buildings from the Song and Jin Dynasties, etc., each with its own characteristics and very precious, and you can visit them one by one. Longxing Temple is very large and has many buildings. The temple is about 600 meters deep and 200 meters wide. The main halls of the temple are roughly symmetrically arranged along the central axis. From outside to inside, there are the main buildings such as the Heavenly King Hall, Mani Hall, Ordination Platform, Great Compassion Pavilion, Amitabha Hall, Pilu Hall, and Longteng Garden. After entering the temple, you can walk along the halls in the temple one by one, which usually takes about 2-3 hours. Longxing Temple is known as the Big Buddha Temple. The main treasure in the temple is a huge statue of Avalokitesvara with a thousand hands and eyes. The statue of Avalokitesvara is located in the Great Compassion Pavilion in the center of the temple and is worth visiting. The statue of Avalokitesvara was built by Zhao Kuangyin of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is 21.3 meters high and very spectacular. It is one of the largest ancient Buddha statues in the country. For this reason, the temple is also called the Big Buddha Temple. You must visit it here. The Mani Hall is also the focus of the temple. On the north wall of the hall, there is a colorful statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva sitting upside down. The sitting posture of this statue is very unique, and the colors are very bright and lifelike. Mr. Lu Xun once praised this statue as "personifying the god", and this statue was also hailed as the "Oriental Goddess of Beauty". In addition, the architecture of the Mani Temple itself is also a very unique work of art. It was built in the Song Dynasty, and the entire building is in the Song Dynasty style. It was once praised by Mr. Liang Sicheng as a precious "isolated example" of Song Dynasty brackets in domestic architecture. You can observe carefully whether it is different from ordinary ancient buildings. In addition to Longxing Temple and Mani Temple, the Longxing Temple Jietai in the Jietai Hall, the Northern Song Dynasty's Zhuanlunzang in the Zhuanlunzang Pavilion, the 7.4-meter-high Northern Song Dynasty wood-carved Maitreya statue in the Cishi Pavilion, the inscriptions written by Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong in the Imperial Stele Pavilion, and the Longzang Temple Stele, a stone stele called the "Regular Script Group" in the Sui Dynasty, are all rare treasures in the country. Don't miss them when you visit here. In addition, there are many landscapes such as the ruins of the Dajue Six Masters Hall and Longteng Garden, which can be visited one by one.
