Luxi Island is located in Dongtou District, Wenzhou City. It is a charming island with a primitive and mysterious atmosphere, giving people a unique feeling of nature and simplicity. Ticket Information: There is no admission fee for Luxi Island, but you need to take a ferry to get to the island. Take a high-speed speedboat (Zhe Dong Hang No. 6) or an ordinary passenger ship (Zhe Dong Hang No. 2) from Dongtou Yuanjue Pier. If there are few people, you can choose a speedboat. If there are many people, it is recommended to take a passenger ship. The reference price for the ticket is CNY 30 per person. There are 4 round-trip trips a day. The departure times from Dongtou are 6:00, 8:00, 12:00, and 16:00; the departure times from Luxi are 6:30, 9:00, 13:00, and 16:30. If you choose a car ferry, the price is CNY 100/person. What's more, all the attractions on this island are free, there are few tourists, and the prices are affordable, making it a cost-effective travel destination. 1. Getting to the Island Dasha'ao Pier - Luxi Island There are 6 daily departures, taking only 20 minutes to reach the island. Tickets cost CNY 20, and child tickets are only CNY 10. Yanzishan Ferry Terminal - Luxi Island There are 3 boats per day, with a 40-minute journey. Tickets are CNY 30, and child tickets are CNY 15. Online ticket purchases can be made through "Dongtou Inter-island Ferry." If you need a car ferry, you'll have to buy tickets on-site. CNY 100 includes the driver's ticket, and motorcycles can also be transported. 2. Getting Around the Island Sightseeing Bus The price is very reasonable, with a round-the-island tour costing only CNY 5. You can also get off at designated stops. Camping here at dawn to watch the sunrise would be an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, we arrived too late and it was getting dark, so we missed its most breathtaking moment. Qilu Bay Beach This is a man-made beach. The sand isn't particularly clean, but there are free children's play facilities, making it a great place to bring kids to collect shells, catch crabs, and enjoy some family time. 4. Food and Accommodation There's a street with guesthouses and restaurants on the island, offering affordable prices but relatively basic environments. If you have enough time, you can also choose not to stay on the island, as day trips are convenient. This year, the newly opened Sha'ao Pier offers a 20-minute boat ride to Luxi Island, with each trip allowing car ferrying. After arriving on the island, visit the Daotan Rock Geological Park. A 30-minute walk will take you to a rocky beach with marine erosion landforms. There is also a pebble beach at Wuren'ao. After lunch, you can take a short nap and then head to the Shanping Camping Viewing Platform in the afternoon, which is the highest point on Luxi Island and offers a panoramic view of the island. Bailongyu is the most important attraction on the island, an excellent spot for watching the sunrise and a natural marine pasture for yellow croaker farming. Wake up naturally in the morning, and take a boat to Bird Island at 10 AM. The trip takes 40 minutes, and it can be a bit dizzying if the waves are high, so be mentally prepared. After arriving at the Bird Island viewing platform, you can stay for about 20 minutes and get close to the birds. Among them are five nationally protected species: the Chinese Egret, the Red-billed Egret, the Common Buzzard, the Eurasian Kestrel, and the Peregrine Falcon, as well as seven provincially protected species. There are countless seagulls and petrels. To photograph the birds, you need a professional telephoto lens, and if you have a drone, the birds will follow it as it flies. From May to September each year, tens of thousands of birds inhabit this island, making it the best season for bird watching. The island's attractions are free, and there are no railings on the coastal rocks. Do not get too close to the sea, support each other when walking on the rocks, and wear suitable outdoor clothing. Currently, there are two points for boats to Luxi Island: Dameng and Yuanjue. It takes 20 minutes from Dameng (recommended) and 40 minutes from Yuanjue, both allowing car ferrying. Boat tickets can be purchased on the Dongtou Island Inter-island Transportation APP. There are many farmhouses and homestays near the pier, with prices ranging from 180 to 300 yuan.
