#100WAYS TO TRAVEL #Japan #Hyogo #MAiko #AKASHI #AKISHI fish tent
Looking back on my 18-day solo trip to Japan in 2022 when the epidemic was just lifted
JR Osaka Station → JR Maiko Station → Maiko Park, Maiko Marine Walk → JR Akashi Station (Akashi) → Uo no Tomo Shopping Street, Akashi Castle Ruins
【Maiko Sea Walking Trail】
From JR Maiko Station or Sanyo Electric Railway Maiko Park Station, walk for about ten minutes after exiting the station.
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is an important passage connecting Kobe and Awaji Island. It is also the largest suspension bridge in the world. The Maiko Sea Walk is also planned on the pier. You need to purchase tickets to visit. After entering, take the elevator to the eighth floor. The first half of the bridge is On the general walkway, you can see the Akashi Strait through the iron window. The second half is made of tempered glass. When you look down, you can see the Akashi Strait at your feet. People who are afraid of heights must be very scared.
【Yuzhipeng Shopping Street】
Akashi Station is a station jointly constructed by JR and Sanyo Electric Railway. After exiting the station, pass through the building in front of the station and follow the overpass to Uonota shopping street. The shopping street is not long. The whole street has a roof. There are vegetable stalls, fishmongers, snack bars, etc. on both sides of the street. What I am most looking forward to is eating "Akashi Yaki". Akashi Yaki is similar to takoyaki, but the skin is made of egg buns. Yes, you can eat it with mustard, salt or soup stock. I didn’t expect it to be very delicious! ! I still can’t forget it! ! But I was very full after a whole portion by myself, and the portion is very large.
【Akashi Castle Ruins】
It’s about a ten-minute walk from JR Akashi Station. Akashi Castle is surrounded by Akashi Park. I didn’t see if I could walk up to it in the park. Later, when I returned to the station to catch the bus, I was waiting on the platform and turned around to see the ruins of Akashi Castle.
