The former residence of Victor Hugo is located next to the Place des Vosges. Today, the former residence has retained its appearance as the Stedelijk Museum, exhibiting the life of the great writer and poet, as well as Hugo's own Impressionist sketches and portraits. The living room of the former residence is very rich in Chinese characteristics, and here you can get a glimpse of Hugo's Chinese complex. Hugo lived here from 1832 to 1848, when Hugo and his wife rented a 280-square-meter house on the second floor of the Rohan-Guéménée Hotel. Here Hugo wrote parts of "Marie Tudor" and "Les Misérables", and Hugo moved from here a year after publishing "Notre Dame de Paris".

💞Recommendation reason:
Visiting the former residence of the famous French writer Victor Marie Hugo is a free attraction. Bags need to be checked at the entrance. The reception counter provides bag storage services. Next to it is a place for selling books and souvenirs.
The overall exhibition space is not large, and the wallpaper on the walls is mainly dark. Under the light, the room is dim, and many paintings are displayed inside.
The most special one is the Chinese-style living room, which displays many Chinese-style utensils and decorations, and is matched with green walls, which is very special.
After the visit, there are many galleries nearby to visit, or you can find a cafe to relax☺️

Victor Hugo's House.
Victor Hugo's House is hidden in a corner of the most beautiful Place des Vosges in Paris. It was once the place where the great writer Victor Hugo wrote and lived for 16 years. As soon as you walk into this three-story building, it feels like time has turned back, and Hugo's life comes alive—his desk, manuscripts, and the oil paintings on the walls full of stories seem to be quietly telling you about his legendary life.
It was here that Hugo wrote the masterpiece "Les Misérables." You can imagine him sitting by the window, looking at the fountain and the crowd in the square, and writing the scenery and social life of Paris into his book. This home not only witnessed his literary peak but also carried his deep thoughts on freedom and justice.
Today, Victor Hugo's House has become a museum open to the public. The exhibition is rich and full of literary and historical atmosphere. Here, you can not only see the traces of Hugo's life but also enter his inner world and feel his care and passion for society. Coming here is like having a conversation with this great writer and experiencing the world he wrote about, which is both full of hope and profound.

Paris | Free admission to Victor Hugo's House. Meet his life here.
After so many visits to Paris, I finally came to Victor Hugo's House. The museum includes a study, bedroom, dining room, etc.
.
The first room in the apartment displays many family portraits. It can be seen that he was already very famous when he was young. He has made achievements in poetry, drama, and prose.
.
The living room with red satin can see many art works, which also shows his connection with the French nobility and the royal family at that time.
.
The next "Chinese-style room" collects many classic furniture. Mrs. Hugo's dressing table and her chair in the bedroom of the Otteville Mansion are also part of this space.
.
The bedroom is also an important part of Victor Hugo's House. The room is said to be rebuilt, but the furniture in the room includes Sevres porcelain bottles and several portraits. He died here in 1855. Many important works, including "Mary Tudor" and "Ruy Blas", were written here.
.
If you have the chance, you can go and see it~

The Elegant and Tranquil Home of Victor Hugo, One of the Representatives of French Romanticism
On the flight to France, I watched the movie adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic work, Les Misérables. I thought to myself that I must find time to visit Hugo's residence when I get to Paris.
On the morning of the visit, a light drizzle began to fall. The streets were not crowded, making it a perfect time for personal reflection. The residence has several floors, and if you have time, you can take a closer look at its decor and history. Occasionally, you might find some small items with an oriental touch, which piqued my curiosity about the owner's collection. After the visit, you will pass through a small garden. The rich aroma of coffee and French pastries makes it worth staying a bit longer to savor the experience.
There are many art galleries outside the residence, and the works are quite interesting. After browsing, you can sit in a nearby park and watch the passersby, which is quite relaxing. While famous sights are undoubtedly attractive, these less crowded, sentimental corners of the city also captivate me.
