#MatsueCastle Visited on December 14th. Matsue Castle is one of Japan's national treasure castles. It is the only castle in Japan that stands alongside Matsumoto, Inuyama, Hikone, and Himeji. If you climb up to the castle tower, you can see Lake Shinji, and since I visited around 4:30pm, I was able to enjoy the sunset-colored scenery. You can visit the castle tower for free.

#2024mapped Kamedayama Tea Room The coffee shop is located in Kounkan, a Meiji-era Western-style building not far from Matsue Castle. The atmosphere is cute and retro, with a hint of the Meiji era. I ordered an autumnal grape tart. I was impressed by how delicious it was. The almond cream part was thick and the tart was firm and crispy, right in the middle of my favorite! The grapes were juicy and too delicious😍😍 The shortcake was so photogenic that I had to take a picture of my friend. From Matsue Station, it's about 30 minutes to walk through the town to Matsue Castle. The castle comes into view in the distance! The large stones are neatly stacked without any gaps, and it's a work of art. I climbed the gentle stone steps and arrived at the ticket office. I bought a ticket from the ticket machine and headed to the castle. The admission fee was 680 yen. When you see Matsue Castle up close, it's really impressive. Cool! That's the perfect word to describe it. It's a national treasure, Matsue Castle! To climb the castle tower, you have to take off your shoes at the entrance. You will be given a plastic bag, which you can put your shoes in and take with you when you enter. With a slightly chilly atmosphere, we toured the castle, climbing the stairs one floor at a time until we reached the top floor! Walking into Xingyun Pavilion, I was immediately attracted by its exquisite design and elegant atmosphere. The exquisite craftsmanship of the wooden structure, the spacious and bright rooms, and the historical decoration all give people a strong cultural atmosphere. Inside the museum, I visited several exhibition halls that showcased Songjiang’s history, culture, and art. Especially the exhibits about Matsue Castle and local traditional crafts gave me a deeper understanding of the history of this place.
