The Tomb of The 12th Emperor!
#celebratewithtrip
Khai Dinh Tomb is a part of the Complex of Hue Monuments, recognized as World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. It is located in Chau Chu Mountain about 10km away from Hue City, Vietnam. It is the burial place of the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. It is the longest built, most expensive, most sophisticated and the strangest of all 7 royal tombs in Hue. This historical attraction is accessible by every vehicle. We rented a motorbike going there since it is the most convenient and cheaper way in Vietnam. The weather was chilly which was comfortable to explore Hue City. It is one of the most interesting cities in Vietnam in terms of culture and traditions.

Hue- Khai Dinh Tomb
One historical site to visit if you are in Hue.
There is a fee of VND15k. If you wish to have more information the guide on site is always available for small fee.
Most of the features follow Chinese emperors, with a set of terracotta’s in front of the tomb.
this will leave you wondering , are there originated from ancient Chinese dynasty that are located in Hue. The feature is also based on dragon .
This is only one of the tombs which I was suggested the nicest. There are more different tombs around Hue area with different layout which I have skipped .
Not even sure then actual person is laying at tomb.

Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh
#vietnamtrip Besides being a tomb, this place has a good vibe, a peaceful energy and a beautiful architecture.
I don't know anything about the history of the emperor Khai but I think he may have been a good ruler.
There is a guide in the top chamber where you can see the portrait and all the beautiful gems and paintings.
If you have time to visit a Tomb, this one is a good choice to spend you time and money.
The entrance is 150k dong for foreigners.
If I'm not mistaken, kids until a certain height or age pay like half this price.

The most beautiful royal tomb in Hue, Vietnam - Khai Dinh Tomb
#2024TravelReview#Vietnam #Hue #Historical Monuments
Khai Dinh Tomb (Lăng Khải Định) is the imperial tomb of Hong Zong (Khai Dinh), the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. It was built in 1931 and took 11 years to complete. The architectural style of Qiding Mausoleum is a fusion of Chinese and French features. It was built against the mountain. At the entrance is a dragon-carved staircase with stone statues of elephants, horses, and civil and military officials on the platform. The floor inside the imperial mausoleum is paved with colorful glazed tiles, there are huge murals of auspicious dragons on the walls, and on the left and right sides of the inner corridor there are colorful murals made of floral tiles and broken glass.
This imperial mausoleum is truly magnificent and splendid, and it deserves to be called the most beautiful imperial mausoleum in Hue.

#vietnamtrip #hue
Visiting the Khai Dinh Tomb in Hue, Vietnam, left me in awe of its stunning architecture. Unlike the other imperial tombs in the area, this one blends traditional Vietnamese styles with Western influences, creating a unique and breathtaking masterpiece. Nestled on the slopes of Chau Chu Mountain, the tomb's grand staircase is adorned with intricate dragon sculptures, setting the tone for the magnificence inside. The interior is equally dazzling, featuring elaborate mosaics made from porcelain and glass that shimmer under the light. #TravelRecordsAsia
This tomb was built for the 12th emperor, Khai Dinh, and is located in Tuy Van Village, Phuong Thuy (Perfume) Province, about 10km from Hue city.
It is also Vietnam's first World Heritage Site.
Khai Dinh is also known as an emperor who loved French architecture.
The Khai Dinh Mausoleum incorporates a Baroque style and is made of expensive reinforced concrete imported from France.
It is a very unique building that mixes both French and Chinese.
The emperor's body is placed 9m underground under the gold leaf-covered statue of Khai Dinh.

Exploring Khai Dinh Tomb
One of the most remarkable architectural masterpieces we visited in Hue was Khai Dinh Tomb, one of the seven most stunning tombs in the city. Located around 10km from the center of Hue in Thuy Bang commune, Huong Thuy district, the tomb is easily accessible, especially if you're staying at nearby resorts like Pilgrimage or anHill.
We were captivated by the grandeur of the high steps leading up to the tomb, surrounded by a nostalgic atmosphere. From the top, you can admire the lush, green mountains that frame the ancient capital. Khai Dinh Tomb embodies rich historical, cultural, and artistic values, serving as a symbol of the cultural exchange between Vietnam and Western influences during its time.
The tomb's structure is a rectangular block with 127 steps, starting with the Tam Quan gate, followed by Nghi Mon and Bai Dinh yard. The upper two floors, separated by 13 steps each, lead to Thien Dinh Palace at the highest point.
Though the area of the tomb is small, the intricate details reflect the painstaking work of ancient artisans, making this site an unforgettable destination to explore.

Tomb of emperor Khai Dinh of Hue
#traveldiaries
Tomb of Khai Dinh, is located on Châu Chữ mountain near the former capital city of Huế. The tomb became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 as part of the Complex of Hué ...
The Khai Dinh emperor who was the penultimate Emperor, is the most impressive and ornate one, yet with some kitschy details. It's elevated from the street level, reaching it through a Chinese style gate via 2 stairways. On the way up to the Mausoleum you pass ornate stone guards on both sides, as well few smaller temples.
Khai Dinh tomb entrance fee is 150,000 VND/adult and 30,000 VND/child. Tourists can visit the tomb anytime between 7 AM and 5 PM. It will take you approximately one or two hours to fully explore the tomb.

Personally, it was my favorite spot in Vietnam.
Although it gave a strong impression of Chinese culture, this building also incorporates elements of French style.
At the ticket booth, you can choose either a single ticket for the Khai Dinh Imperial Mausoleum or a set of tickets for several buildings.

Classic Vietnam Hue itinerary to experience the royal style of Vietnam|Hue Imperial City, Kai Dinh Imperial Tomb, boat cruise on the Xiangjiang River, Thien Mu Temple
Many people only visit Da Nang and Hoi An when they come to China and Vietnam.
However, if you like history and culture, there is one important city that you must not miss, that is Hue.
It used to be the ancient capital of Vietnam, so there are many royal customs left behind. Because it is full of history and culture, it will have a different tourism style.
However, the weather in Hue is really sultry. It is considered a hotter area in Vietnam, and because it is relatively rural, the roads are slightly uneven.
The experience of traveling will be significantly different from that of a big city~
This time I came to China and Vietnam with Phoenix Travel. Let me share with you my recommended itinerary in Hue, Vietnam.

Emperor Khai Dinh's tomb, former Imperial City of Hue
#tripblazers
The last monarch dynasty of Vietnam is also the dynasty ruled by the Nguyen royal family. This tomb belongs to the second last Emperor Khai Dinh of Vietnam, who ruled Vietnam from 1916 to 1925. The tomb was not completed upon his death, but only in 1931 during Emperor Bao Dai's reign who is also the last Emperor of Vietnam. The mausoleum is mainly designed based on the porcelain art with the statue erected directly above his tomb. Due to the modern times of his reign, his tomb is mainly designed based on Neoclassical, Baroque and Gothic elements. The tomb is also listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site together with other structures within the Hue complex.
