The Ming Ming Emperor's Mausoleum started construction in 1840. The Ming ordered the emperor to change Jinji Mountain into Xiaoshan Mountain, and called the mausoleum Xiaoling Mausoleum. In January 1841, the construction work was not completed when the Ming Ming emperor died. One month after Emperor Shaozhi ascended the throne, he immediately ordered the construction of the Xiaoling Mausoleum to continue according to his father's drawing. On August 20, 1841, the body of the Emperor Mingming was transported to Baocheng for burial, but construction was not completed until early 1843. The Ming Ming emperor's mausoleum starts from Dahongmen and ends at the foot of Luocheng behind the mausoleum. And Xiandemen is the beginning of the sleeping hall area. Chong'en Hall is located in the middle, surrounded by left and right side halls and left and right pine houses. Passing through Hongzemen, you will arrive at Minglou. The majesty and serenity of the building, coupled with the natural beauty of flowers and trees, has fully reflected the emperor's stern character, profound knowledge and romantic feelings. The Ming Emperor Mausoleum is a relatively magnificent royal tomb, with a particularly symmetrical building in the open area. It is more appropriate to say that this is a large park than a mausoleum. The entire mausoleum covers a vast area, but there are not many buildings. Walking through it, surrounded by lush greenery, it is like walking in a park.
Getting There - Minh Mang Tomb is only about 12 km from the center of Hue city, you can move along Highway 49, go along the Perfume River, to Tuan Bridge and go a little further to get there. Currently, the location of the mausoleum has been updated accurately on Google Maps, so you can easily go here according to the directions on the map.
Attractions -
Dai Hong Mon is the main door of King Minh Mang's tomb, opening the way to go inside. The gate is built from lime brick, painted in a bright, dignified red color. Dai Hong Mon is divided into 3 entrances and 24 leaf roofs decorated with exquisite dragon carp and dragon veins. According to historical records, the large door in the center of Dai Hong Mon since its construction has only opened once to bring the coffin of King Minh Mang into the mausoleum. After that, even the emperors who came to offer incense here could only enter by two side gates on either side, Ta Hong Mon and Huu Hong Mon. Today, when you come to visit, you will also enter by these two side gates.
Lau Minh Lau easily impresses visitors thanks to its outstanding red color. To get to the floor, from Sung An Palace, you can go through one of three bridges: Ta Phu (on the left), Trung Dao (in the middle) or Huu Bat (on the right). Legend has it that Minh Lau is the place for walking and sightseeing of the Nguyen Dynasty kings in the past.
With a cool, fresh space and poetic landscape, Minh Lau floor has now become a very hot check-in place for tourists every time they visit Minh Mang Tomb.
