On the plane, you can get a sneak peek of Mount Mayon from the clouds, even seeing the crater clearly. As soon as you get off the plane, the volcano is right in front of you, a spectacular sight. Here's a super useful tip: When flying from Manila to Legazpi Airport, be sure to choose a window seat on the right side; for the return trip, from Legazpi to Manila, choose a window seat on the left side for the best view of Mount Mayon. 2. This was a spontaneous trip. I hadn't been to the Philippines for a long time, and this time I decided not to go diving in Bohol, but to take a different route. So I chose a less popular route: Puerto Galera - Legazpi - Mayon Volcano. I had planned to continue, but a typhoon 🌀 forced me to turn back... The weather wasn't great this time, so the photos aren't very clear, and the visibility underwater was also very low. Please bear with me, and I'll take better photos next time! 1. Public Transportation There are no direct flights from China to Legazpi, so you need to transfer in Manila or Cebu. I recommend Manila - Legazpi - Cebu, so you don't have to backtrack. The airport in Legazpi is called "Bicol International Airport," located in Daraga, right at the foot of the volcano. It takes about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport to downtown Legazpi. 2. City Transportation There are three main options: Taxi, Tricycle, and Jeepney. - Jeepney: No fixed stops, suitable for locals. Tourists are advised to choose the other two options. - Car: It's easy to call a car through Grab. Taxis are easy to find in the city, but not so much in the suburbs or scenic areas, where you'll need to take a Tricycle. - Tricycle: They can take you anywhere, and can fit 4 people if you squeeze in. 3. Accommodation The local brand hotels are a bit old and not very cost-effective. The locals are warm and simple, so homestays are also a good choice. I recommend staying in the city center, where there are more supermarkets and restaurants to choose from, and it's more convenient to get around.
