The former residence of Zhu Kezhen in Meicheng, Jiande is part of the former site of Zhejiang University when it moved west to Jiande, and is located in Meicheng Town, Jiande City. The former residence was originally the ancestral home of Sun Wei, a teacher at National Zhejiang University, and later became the temporary residence of President Zhu Kezhen and his family. In 1937, Zhejiang University moved west to Meicheng, Jiande due to the Anti-Japanese War. Zhu Kezhen, as the president, insisted on running the school during this period. Although the stay was only 43 days, this period of history is of great significance. Zhu Kezhen's former residence is not only an ancient building with a long history, but also a model of rescue protection of historical buildings, retaining the exquisite charm of Qing Dynasty architecture. Zhu Kezhen's former residence includes a gatehouse, a main house, an annex on the north side and a courtyard, with a total area of ​​1,221 square meters and a construction area of ​​699 square meters. There is an exhibition hall in the former residence, which displays the historical origins of Zhu Kezhen, Zhejiang University and Meicheng Ancient Town. The ancient city of Yanzhou is located on Zhengda Street, Meicheng Town, Jiande City, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It was built in 225 AD and has a history of 1,800 years. It has existed as a provincial capital for more than 1,200 years. During the Three Kingdoms period, it was called Jiande. In the Tang Dynasty, the prefecture was called Muzhou. In the Song Dynasty, Fan Zhongyan changed Muzhou to Yanzhou, which was used until the Republic of China. The geographical environment is located at the confluence of Xin'an River and Lan River in the upper reaches of Qiantang River, with Wulong Mountain on its back and Sanjiangkou in front. It is an important wharf in the Xin'an River and Qiantang River basins. The ancient city is not large and is mainly composed of two streets, one horizontal and one vertical. Yuquan Temple, originally known as Yuquan Nunnery, is a historic ancient temple in the south of Jiangnan. It is located in the southern foot of Wulong Mountain, north of Meicheng Town, Jiande City, and is a 5-minute drive from Meicheng Ancient Town. Yuquan Temple was built during the Tang Dynasty (AD 785-804) and has a history of more than 1,200 years. The entire temple is built against the mountain. The halls of Yuquan Temple are built layer by layer, from the lowest Heavenly King Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Guanyin Pavilion, to the Daxiong Hall on the top of the mountain, as well as the Medicine Buddha Hall and the God of Wealth Temple! The former site of Zhejiang University's westward relocation is located at No. 153, Fuqian Road, Meicheng Town, Jiande City. During the Anti-Japanese War, it served as the temporary residence for Zhu Kezhen, the president of Zhejiang University, and his family, and was also used as a teaching site. Zhu Kezhen's old house was built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. On the east side, there are two one-story classrooms, north and south. The eastern entrance hall was constructed during the Republic of China period, with a Western style, built with green bricks, and supported by four columns. The central entrance features a mountain flower decoration, a rather uncommon and distinctive architectural feature, making it a rare example of a Republic of China era entrance hall.
