The name was given by the local population observing wild deer herds swimming to the island every spring and covering a distance of approximately 1.2 miles. The island is also known as the location for the best wall diving in Bali, with a very bright & colorful underwater world and lots of different sites to choose. If you like activities, you must have heard of Menjangan! This place is famous as a world-class snorkeling spot, but it is also a natural island where deer live, although there are no people. I applied for diving instead of snorkeling, but the visibility was not so good as the water got deeper… I heard that the visibility is a bit unpredictable! You can see plenty of fish and turtles even with snorkeling, so I recommend snorkeling! Menjangan does not have separate facilities, so you can only enter for 3-4 hours a day! I visited Menjangan while staying in Pemuteran, a nearby area. People from nearby areas such as Kuta in Bali also come to Menjangan on a one-day tour, but I do not recommend it for those who do not have much time. I don't think it is a place that you should spend an entire day visiting! Menjangan Island is a part of West Bali National Park. It can be reached by roads from Gilimanuk and Singaraja, or by using ferries from Ketapang Harbour, East Java because it’s basically located between Java and Bali Island! You can go to worship or pray here (official guide said that there are 9 temples here), or you can sinking in mercy's sea, doing snorkeling, diving, whatever you want! 😍 To rent a full snorkeling gear it only cost around 4 USD so of course it’s very affordable!
