In the past, express trains ran frequently, but now it has become a quiet line, with local trains and rapid trains that connect to the Shinkansen mainly. You can enjoy a leisurely journey along the long road where history and nature intersect.

In front of JR Minakami Station, a couple renovated a 50-year-old bookstore and reborn it as a book cafe. They have books with a selection of books on themes of travel and urban development. They serve handmade rice balls and international meals every day. It's a relaxing shop where local people gather. JR Minakami Station is the last stop for trains from Takasaki. From here on, Niigata trains operate. Therefore, Suica and PASMO cards cannot be used from here. The waiting room is quite large. In front of the station, there were manju shops, souvenir shops, soba shops, etc. lined up. It seems that many people come to Minakami Onsen, hike, ski, etc. The waiting room is large, so it seems like it would be warm even in the cold winter. There was also a tourist information center.
