The following practical tips will help you experience it easily: 1. Traffic advice If you drive, you can navigate to the Jiuwanxi Rafting Visitor Center, which is about 1.5 hours' drive from Yichang city; or you can take a direct tourist bus from Yichang East Station, which departs multiple times a day. 2. Rafting Highlights The 6.4-kilometer-long river has a drop of more than 100 meters, combining the thrill of rapids with the leisure of gentle water play. It takes about 3 hours. There are many cliffs and rocks along the way, and there are supply stations along the way where you can taste freshly baked potatoes and other mountain snacks. 3. Preparation before departure • A waterproof bag is required to store your cell phone and spare clothes (showers are provided at the end point) • Wear river shoes or strappy sandals, no flip flops allowed • Sunscreen and goggles are recommended 4. 🗓Itinerary: Arrive in Changde on the evening of April 30 and stay near Changde Railway Station. May 1: Because I was attending a friend's wedding, I didn't hang around Changde. After dinner, I went straight to Zigui. I planned to take the G348 and get off the expressway in Yichang, but because of traffic control, I wasn't allowed to enter. So, I got back on the expressway and didn't arrive in Zigui until after 5pm. I skipped Qu Yuan's hometown and went straight to Muyudao Park. It's a great place to see the Three Gorges Dam, with beautiful scenery. I stayed there until 8pm, enjoying the river breeze in the evening before looking for a place to eat. Maybe I didn't go to the right place, but I drove around and couldn't find any place to eat, so I just ordered takeout at the hotel. 🏨Hotel environment: On the night of May 1, I stayed in Zigui at the Xiangxi Chengxi Homestay in the Navel Orange Cultural Tourism Town. The room was large, clean, and well-equipped. There was a washing machine on the first floor, and clothes could be dried on the third floor, which was very convenient. 🌟Highlights: Muyudao Park was a pleasant surprise. It's a free park with a beautiful environment, not crowded, and parking is convenient and inexpensive. I recommend visiting it if you come to Zigui. There were no traffic jams along the way, and the experience was very good.
