Our adventurous side got the better of us on our last day in Cameron Highlands - we booked a tour that included hiking in the Mossy Forest. It had rained heavily in the morning, so it was very foggy, and we felt like we were walking through the clouds. Up in Mossy Forest, we saw pitcher plants, ferns, and plant life unique to that climate. Coral hill at Cameron Highland is a Mossy forest with a stunning view and mysterious view. Coral hill with a hieght of 1650m actually is a mountain sometimes known as the upper and cloud forest. This trail is mostly flat and takes you through the jungle to a peak with a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.An easy 20 minutes hike one way but beware the ground is very slogging. #cameronhighland #newyearadventure

There are many hiking trials in Cameron Highlands where one is called the mossy forest located a short 35mins drive from the maintown of Cameron Highlands. Mossy Forest is a well pathed hike and well known also among locals, you will also see loads of hikers during your trip here as this is one of the popular Forest that people generally visit. Of course, Mossy Forest is all about mosses where you will see it blanketing the whole entire Forest and also keeping it a very cool environment, it can also get really cold and foggy during your hike so do be prepared. This place may seem like any other Forest but at time when you stop and look around you it somehow looks magically beautiful and a calming Forest. I was so happy with this hiking trip. I never thought such place existed in Malaysia. My pictures dont do justice to this marvelous place. Fortunately, it is only 2 hour plus from Kuala Lumpur. But be mindful to come early in the morning & try to avoid public holiday as the traffic will kill your mood. Standing at 2032 metres above sea level in Mount Brinchang, the chilly and moist atmosphere makes it a perfect environment for exotic plants such as moss, ferns, spices, and orchids to grow. Mossy Forest is also called a Cloud Rainforest as the mist settles here, giving it a mysterious, surreal ambiance. I feel like I am in the scene of Lord of the Rings! When I visited here in 2016, there was no entrance fee but now it cost RM 10. We went without a guide #hiking #mossyforest

Getting there: You can plan to self-drive to get there, make sure you're a confident driver and it can be challenging to drive up yourself as the path is narrow and the surroundings can get very foggy, and most people only do so if they drive a 4WD. It's best to have an experienced local operator bring you through the best parts of the forest. Exploring the mossy forest was like entering into enchanted forest! It’s always cold, windy and partly mist while the pathway was very steep, muddy and slippery. As I do not recommend to drive up as the way to mossy forest was really narrow. Luckily we have bought tour package through shopee and included 4x4 landrover with local tour guide that has amazing knowledge who could point out all the exotic plants in the forest. The journey along the scenic road offered beautiful viewpoints of the tea farms, enhancing the overall enjoyment. The ride up here was quite challenging, but I can tell you it was definitely worth it. I enjoyed every moment in the forest, though with small kids I gotta keep my expectations low 😅 Though the steps were quite a lot, they didn't tire me at all as I was so impressed by the 'mossiness' of everything! 😍 The trees tells a thousand stories and I tried my best to listen to each of them.
