Chongqing is a great place to visit in the off-season! 🎈
Here are some tips for first-time visitors to Chongqing. I hope you find them helpful!
-
🚦Transportation
✈️ By air
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport: Note that there is no T1 terminal, only T2 and T3 terminals! You can take the airport shuttle bus 🚌 K01 to Jiefangbei.
🚄 By train/high-speed rail
Chongqing North Railway Station, Chongqing West Railway Station, and Chongqing Shapingba Railway Station: I recommend Chongqing North Railway Station, which is close to the city center. 🚕 Taxis and 🚈 light rail to Jiefangbei are both convenient.

⚠️ Notes
1️⃣ Don't wear high heels, or your feet will hurt
2️⃣ I don't recommend group tours in Chongqing, as many attractions are free. As long as you do your research before you go, you can travel freely or charter a car. If you want to visit the surrounding areas, I recommend chartering a car.
3️⃣ Be careful of stores recommended by taxi drivers, as they may receive a commission
4️⃣ Be careful of attractions that are closed on Mondays, so you don't waste a trip. Attractions that are closed include: Three Gorges Museum, Baigongguan, Chongqing Science and Technology Museum, Luo Zhongli Art Museum
5️⃣ Buy tickets for the Yangtze River Cableway online in advance
6️⃣ The cost of living in Chongqing is very low, and most of your expenses will be on food. Many attractions are free, and taxis are not necessary, as most places are accessible by light rail
