The average cost per person is around 200 RMB, staying in a trendy brand-design hotel in downtown Shanghai
Marriott's youthful hotel brand moxy has made its debut in mainland China, choosing Shanghai as its first city. Following the Hongqiao moxy, the Xuhui moxy has also been open for several years now.
The location of Xuhui moxy is indeed very convenient. Although it takes about seven to eight minutes to walk to the subway station, the surrounding area has access to lines 3, 4, and 12, which is really quite convenient.
Upon entering the building where the hotel is located, there is a dedicated elevator that goes straight to the lobby on the 21st floor. Moxy is often referred to as 'little W', and it does feel somewhat similar. Moxy's lobby is a multifunctional space, serving as both the reception desk and a bar counter, with the breakfast restaurant and various leisure and entertainment areas adjacent to it.
The public area is uniquely furnished, and moxy also incorporates many local cultural elements, such as those from old Shanghai. For instance, the White Rabbit Creamy Candy pillows are super adorable.
The rooms at Xuhui moxy are not very large, and are quite a bit smaller compared to the ones at Hongqiao. Similarly, there is a row of wooden hooks on the wall, as everything at moxy can be hung on the wall, including tables and chairs.
Although the hotel is located in the city center, there are not many dining options nearby, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the nearby shopping district.
The hotel's service is standard, but the price and location are good. A promotional season price of less than 400 RMB is indeed quite reasonable within the Marriott group.
