Yashima is located in the northern part of Kagawa Prefecture, east of Takamatsu City, extending into the Seto Inland Sea. It is a lava highland with an altitude of 293 meters and belongs to the Seto Inland Sea National Park. The top part is flat and looks like a roof, hence the name "Yashima". If you take a walk along the walking path up the mountain, there are three observation decks, "Tanguling", "Lion's Rock" and "Yozakutei". From here, you can see the spectacular scenery, in addition to the Seto Inland Sea National Park and the Setouchi overseas. In addition, the site of the ancient battlefield where Genpei fought is also unobstructed. In addition, you can also visit the 84th Shikoku Shrine - Yashima Temple and the "Shin Yashima Aquarium", which is located in a high position in the country. Yashima Temple is the 84th Shikoku Shrine located on Yashima Mountain, a Shingon sect sect temple. Passing through the mountain gate, you can see the beautiful main hall painted in vermilion. Standing in front of you is the "Minoyama Daimyojin", which is said to be dedicated to the Yashima fox who inherited the tragic story of the Genpei war. In the courtyard, there is a "Snow Garden" built with white tuff instead of snow, and a "Treasure Museum" that displays various cultural relics from the battle between Genpei. The main hall was built in the Kamakura period (around the 13th century) and is designated as an important national cultural property.
