[2025 Freising Airport] Travel Guide for Munich Airport (Updated Jul)

It has been a while since I last visited Munich International Airport in Germany. There are 2 terminals (1 and 2) and connected by a large open area in between. The majority of the restaurants and cafe are located in terminal 2. It is fairly easy to around both terminals as you just have to follow the signs. There is also a S banh line S8 connected to the airport which can easily bring you to city centre in just below 40 mins.

But we recommend traveling to the city by public transport. The S Bahn train line S8 takes about 40 minutes to travel to the city. #2025OverseasTravelEvent I had to spend the night at Munich International Airport waiting for a long transfer. One tip I'll leave is that all shops and restaurants at Munich Airport close after 11 o'clock. There are no vending machines. Thanks to the staff who gave me food to take home, I didn't starve😭 The airport itself is spacious and very clean.

Germany Munich → Tokyo Haneda Airport Lufthansa in-flight meal from Munich to Tokyo ^^ We were served a stylish in-flight meal that was typical of Germany ✨ There was orange juice, apple juice, and beer and wine! Snacks were placed near the toilets at the rear of the plane when it got dark! There were also chocolate bars and snacks, and you could take them as you please 🍫 You can get sandwiches, water, and drinks for free if you ask the flight attendant ^^ It was a long flight, but I felt at ease!

The flight I took was Outbound: Frankfurt → Cote d'Azur Return: Cote d'Azur → Munich The photo is the return flight (early morning flight departing at 6am) I happened to be seated by the emergency exit, and the legroom was super spacious😂 It was an early morning flight on a weekday, so the plane was completely empty. It was a short flight within the EU, so there were no monitors or in-flight meals. On the way, they gave me the original chocolate (actually Godiva) and a mini bottle of water (super hard water) shown in the fourth photo! There was heavy snow and wind two days ago and flights were grounded. We are lucky enough to fly The captain said the flight was urgently dispatched from Cape Town. If the temperature is too low, the plane will need to be de-iced before taking off. #Southeast Asia really feels strange to us

The breakfast buffet of the Leonardo Royal Hotel is quite famous. Outstanding is that it is popular with travelers because there are many choices, but 90% are Western style. There is smoked salmon that you can eat as much as you want, froi gras, freshly squeezed orange and apple juice, a variety of multi-grain breads which are very delicious, fruits, ham, omelettes made to order, order as you like, there is even fish sauce to please Thai people, desserts, milk, yogurt, salads, there is everything you can eat all the time, very premium quality, a variety of breads and butters, everything is really delicious. The dining room is large and spacious, decorated luxuriously, there is just no Asian food line, but it is definitely delicious. I recommend it.

Munich Airport has only two beer breweries in the world. It's really impressive and not expensive. There are two S Bahn (S Line) lines from Munich Airport, which are the airport express lines. All the Germans on the trains are self-disciplined and wear masks. It's impressive.
