Thailand | Phi Phi Island Hiking Viewpoint 1234 Loop 9 km Guide
🚗Route
I stayed at Long Beach, so I walked the route in reverse. I went to Viewpoint 4 first, then 3, 2, and 1. The whole route is nearly 9 km, takes 2 hours to walk, and has an elevation gain of 350 m. I spent about half an hour taking photos and resting.
1️⃣ From Long Beach, it's about 1 km along a concrete road to Viewpoint 4 (not on the map), which is actually a restaurant called Infinity Restaurant. The restaurant opens at 12:00 pm, and the viewpoint is free. It faces Tonsai Pier and is a great place to watch the sunset.
2️⃣ From Viewpoint 4 to Viewpoint 3 is about 2 km, with an elevation gain of about 100 m. The first half is a concrete road, and the second half is a dirt road that passes through a local farm with many poultry. There are birds chirping all the way, and the breeze is quite pleasant. The entrance fee is THB 20, and this viewpoint mainly overlooks the back of Tonsai Pier.
3️⃣ From Viewpoint 3 to 2 is very close, about 500 m, along a dirt road. Viewpoints 2 and 1 are connected, and the entrance fee is THB 50. It's like a park, and Viewpoint 2 is at a higher elevation. You can see both Tonsai and the back of Tonsai from here, and it's the most open place. Walk down about 200 m to Viewpoint 1.
4️⃣ From Viewpoint 1, walk down to the town center. There are many steep steps here, so be careful. It's about 3 km to Long Beach Pier.
🚗Notes
1. I think it's more reasonable to start walking at 4/5 pm, when it's not too sunny. This way, you can reach Viewpoint 4 in time for dinner and the sunset. However, the road is quite dark at night, and there are no street lights in the village.
2. If you don't have much energy or time, I recommend going directly to Viewpoint 2. It has the most open view, and you can see both Tonsai and the back of Tonsai. It's also a great place to take photos.
3. There may be motorcycles on the road, so be careful.
4. You can bring a bottle of water, and there are many small supermarkets along the way. Drink plenty of water if you sweat a lot.
5. There are many mosquitoes and insects, so bring some repellent.
6. The business hours on Google Maps may not be accurate. Viewpoint 3 is shown as opening at 9:00 am, but when I arrived at 8:30 am, there were already many people there.
