Museums

The Liverpool Museum opened to the public on July 19, 2011. It is a brand-new exhibition venue designed by Dutch architects 3XN with more than 1 million exhibits. The building of the museum itself is quite interesting. Located on the breakwater of the harbour, the modern and compact features are in sharp contrast with the classic landmarks of Liverpool. The museum is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows at both ends. They open to the city and the harbour, like a time-space pipeline, allowing the past, present and future. Free shuttle, and the pavilion is the transfer station where they gather. The limestone panels surround the front of the museum, and the stairs on the side zigzag upwards, forming an elongated effect, making the building appear grand and energetic as a whole. The Liverpool Museum is more of a museum of customs and culture, with the central theme revolving around everything about the city, such as its history, its humanities and even its future. Here, people can not only see the vicissitudes of the city of Liverpool, but also understand the progress of the times since the Industrial Revolution of the British Empire.
