As the saying goes, "You are not a true hero until you've climbed the Great Wall." In Beijing, the most famous sections of the Great Wall are Mutianyu and Badaling. The main differences between the two are: ❇️ Mutianyu: Less crowded, mainly visited by international tourists, less convenient transportation, primarily requires private car hire, though there are direct buses available. ❇️ Badaling: More crowded, mainly visited by domestic tourists, convenient transportation with direct subway access. This time, we chose Mutianyu. You can opt for a cable car 🚠 to go up and down, or take the cable car up and the toboggan 🛝 down. Both options cost 100 RMB per person for a one-way trip or 140 RMB per person for a round trip. We chose the cable car up and the toboggan down. This route is suitable for families with children, but buying two one-way tickets will cost 200 RMB per person. 🗓️ Itinerary: First, take the cable car to Tower 14. The scenery here is beautiful, and there's a photo spot for the "Not a true hero until you've climbed the Great Wall" sign. It's said that the view gets even better if you hike further up, but the path is a bit steep. From Tower 14, walk downhill. Most of the path is a gentle slope and relatively flat, leading all the way to Tower 6, where you can take the toboggan down! This route takes about an hour and is suitable for those who don't exercise much, as well as for seniors and children. There are drink stalls along the way, so even kids won't feel too tired! 🔔 Tips: ❣️ Hiring a private car from the city to Mutianyu for a day (8 hours) costs around 600 RMB. ❣️ Confirm with the driver whether they will drop you off at the cable car or toboggan station; otherwise, you may need to take a shuttle bus. ❣️ Depart at 7 AM to arrive at Mutianyu around 9 AM, when it's less crowded. ❣️ After 10 AM, queues start forming, and it gets even busier in the afternoon. ❣️ There are two fast-food restaurants and some small shops near the entrance.

#TravelChina #BeijingReview Mutianyu Great Wall 🚩 Finally got to step on the Great Wall of China. We chose to go to Mutianyu for the main reason : we like the 6th fortress on the East side. Looking at the picture, we had to come here. Another reason is that we wanted to sit on the cable car and dangle our legs and go back down with the Toboggan. It looked so much fun. We chose to travel with zanbus because the pick-up point was near the hotel we booked. It was very convenient to walk to the pick-up point. Before the travel date, the guide contacted us via wechat to confirm the pick-up point at Dengshikou Exit C. We chose the 08:00 round. On the day we went, it took only about an hour. Unfortunately, it was very dusty. When we were on the bus, the guide would recommend and ask which side we wanted to go to West or East or choose to go to West and go to East. The guide could arrange everything. The price would be different. Most people on the bus chose the West side, but we chose East. We would get a paper ticket to use to take the cable car. Coming in the morning, there was almost no need to wait in line for the bus and cable car. But this side is very steep. From the beginning, just walking to the tower is very tiring. On the way down, it was lucky. The queue was not long and we got to ride the slide down. I have to say that it was very fun. I highly recommend it. When we got down, we still had time to eat and walk around a bit. Then it was time to go back, around 2:30 PM. The Great Wall of China is one oh the thing you need to have on your bucketlist. The Great Wall of China was built over centuries by China’s emperors to protect their territory. The Great Wall consists of numerous walls built over some two millennia across northern China and southern Mongolia. This wall often traces the crestlines of hills and mountains as it snakes across the Chinese countryside. Although lengthy sections of the wall are now in ruins or have disappeared completely, it is still one of the more remarkable structures on Earth. The Great Wall was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. You can visit part of the The Great Wall with a daytrip from Beijing. I recommand to visit the Mutianyu section. You can take a car or a bus to arrive there. It is 90kms away from Beijing. When you arrive, you can decide to take a cable car or a chair lift to reach the top, or just hiking there. The Great Wall of China is a must-visit destination at least once in a lifetime. We recommend the Mu Tian Yu section, which offers a one-day trip from Beijing. There are two ways to ascend this section of the Great Wall: 1. Toboggan - an open chairlift without glass, where the descent is similar to a slider with a lever. 2. Cable Car - an enclosed lift with glass, which we chose. The view is beautiful, and although the walking distance is longer, it is absolutely worth it.

#TravelChina Mutianyu or Mutianyu is another checkpoint when visiting the Great Wall in Beijing. You can take the cable car but return by the slide! Or you can take the beautiful cable car and return beautifully. As for us, we choose not to choose. We don't choose until we have wounds 🤣🤣 But the pictures are very beautiful. We rented a car from the city for about 2 hours and arrived. We stopped to eat before climbing the Great Wall. Or if you want to feel like walking, there is a walkway up. We chose to book with Trip for a complete package. 08:30 Meet up with the tour at Xuanwumen Train Station (if the meeting time is different, the station will be different). It took about 1:30 hours to get to Mutianyu. When we were about to arrive, the guide asked us if we wanted to buy the cable car on the East side. This side is the cable car that lets you hang your legs up. On the way down, you can choose to take the cable car as usual or slide down (our booking included everything on the Cable car on the West side). We chose to buy the additional package because it was the highlight. At a little after 11:00, we got on the cable car. It was amazing. We made the right decision to buy the additional package. At 12:30, we got off the East side and chose to slide down. It was so much fun!!! Don't miss it. But there might be some obstacles along the way. The board wasn't smooth, so you had to pull it yourself. 😂😂😂 When we got down, we walked to the Cable car on the West side. This side has a beautiful view. If you come, I recommend going to both sides. We have posted pictures of the view on which side has a good view. At 15:30, the wheels will turn. The bus will return us to the city. They will drop us off at the Bird's Nest field. Walk around and have fun. When we went, the weather was cold. Walk to the train station for about 1 km and then continue to find something to eat. 📍: Sanlitun is a luxury shopping area. This area is very fashionable. There will be photographers following us to take pictures. I think they will post them on 小红书 or something like that. It feels like taking pictures of people who dress well.
