Gunma🇯🇵Myogi Shrine
The majestic Myogi Shrine is located at the eastern foot of Baiyun Mountain, the main peak of Myogi Mountain, which is famous for its strange rocks. Old cedar trees can be seen growing in the area. Since ancient times, it has been famous for enshrining gods for good luck, business prosperity, academic achievement, relationship, farming and silkworms, and has attracted many believers from the Kanto region to come and worship. Starting with the main shrine, Karamon Gate, and Somon Gate, which are designated as important cultural properties by the country, the buildings built from the early to mid-Edo period in the area tell of the rich Edo style and grandeur. The beauty of traditional Japanese architecture can be seen everywhere in the area, including huge stone walls about ten feet high and covered with moss. The Treasure Hall (formerly the Palace Hall) displays the treasures of the Suta Shrine. From here you can see the endless Kanto Plain, which also creates a perfect Japanese-style borrowed landscape garden. #2024TravelReview

[Myogi Shrine/Gunma Prefecture] Pass through an arch of weeping cherry blossoms!
Myogi Shrine in Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture
𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃
Myogi Shrine is located on the middle slope of Mt. Hakuun.
It was enshrined in the second year of Emperor Senka (537) and is said to have enshrined Hakozono-Okami. (There are various theories.)
The sacred object of Myogi Shrine is Mt. Hakuun, one of the rocks that make up Mt. Myogi.
It is said to be a strange rock, and it stands tall like a wall!
In spring, you can see the "weeping cherry blossoms" that bloom in the grounds of Myogi Shrine.
The "weeping cherry blossoms" that can be seen on the approach to the shrine are 200 years old.
These cherry blossoms🌸 that hang down to the ground are like an arch, and you can pass through them as if you are passing through them. They are really beautiful.
There are also some on both sides of the Karamon Gate, and they bloom as if they are covering the ground. Just seeing the cherry blossoms blooming within the grounds is moving.
This is one shrine you definitely want to visit in the spring!

[Gunma Prefecture/Myogi Shrine] I'm glad I went in 2023! Shrines in Gunma Prefecture ②
The second shrine on my trip to Kusatsu Onsen♨️.
This is my second visit since 2020❣️
Going through the torii⛩, you will see a large weeping cherry tree❣️
I'm glad I came during the cherry blossom season🌸, so I took some photos on the approach🤳
Even after passing through the main gate, I was so excited to see the beautiful cherry blossoms🌸🤣
The main gate is 12m tall and bright vermilion, and the main building is so dazzling.
Everything is worth seeing✨

❥❥History
Myogi Shrine is located at the eastern foot of Mt. Hakuun.
Founded in the second year of Emperor Senka (537).
Myogi-san, which was called Hakoso-yama in ancient times, was where Hakoso-okami was enshrined at Hakoso-jinja Shrine, but later changed to Myogi.
The main shrine is gorgeous and was designed by a sculptor who was involved in the construction of Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
The weeping cherry tree on the approach to the shrine is 200 years old and is a stunning beauty.
There are over 20 cherry trees within the grounds, and the area is bustling with visitors in spring.
