Until I turned from the bustling Xijie into Gantang Alley, where a courtyard of gray bricks and tiles suddenly came into view. It felt like staying at an old friend's home—meticulously cared for, with everything just perfect.🍃 ▪ Public Areas The first floor is a multifunctional space filled with the aroma of tea. Bamboo lanterns, a solid wood long table, celadon tea sets, and koi swimming in the entrance fishpond all exude the Zen charm of Jiangnan. We sat by the tea table, watching sunlight filter through the carved screen, painting dappled patterns on the hardwood floor. ▪ Rooms We booked the "Fortune" king room but were unexpectedly upgraded to a suite with a tea lounge. The intricate wood carvings on the headboard even emitted a natural insect-repelling fragrance. The room radiates a relaxed, wabi-sabi vibe, with excellent natural light and artful🎨 details in every corner. The next morning, we were awakened by birdsong.
