🎨Meet the "Black Suspended Universe" in Osaka——Nakanoshima Museum of Art
#Osaka Itinerary
In the city of Osaka, the Nakanoshima Museum of Art is like an art utopia hidden in the hustle and bustle, attracting everyone who loves art and architectural aesthetics.
🏢【Architectural Aesthetics: Suspended Black Rubik's Cube】
Viewed from a distance, the art museum looks like a black Rubik's cube suspended above the city, completely different from the surrounding modern buildings, exuding a mysterious and cold atmosphere. Designed by Katsuhiko Endo, its exterior wall is made up of 609 special prefabricated concrete panels. The surface has been specially treated to present subtle color changes under different light, making the building look like a huge work of art. Walking into the museum, the high atrium brings in natural light. The staircase is ingeniously designed, and light and shadow shine through the gaps between the stairs to form beautiful geometric patterns. Every step you take is like dancing with art.
🎨【Treasures in the Museum: A Journey Through Time and Space of Art】
The museum houses more than 6,000 art treasures from the late 19th century to the present, covering Western paintings, Japanese paintings, sculptures, contemporary art and other fields. Here, you can look into the works of masters such as Modigliani and Dali, and feel the rhythm of their souls in their paintings; you can also appreciate the delicate and unique artistic expression of the Yamato people in front of the paintings of Japanese artists such as Yuzo Saeki and Kazuo Shiraga. From concrete to abstract, from traditional to avant-garde, each exhibit tells a different story, leading us through the long history of art.
🗂️【Special Exhibition: Exploring the Infinite Possibilities of Art】
The museum also regularly holds special exhibitions to bring fresh art experiences to the audience. The recent Utagawa Kuniyoshi exhibition has attracted numerous art lovers. Utagawa Kuniyoshi was a master of the Utagawa school of ukiyo-e in the late Edo period. His works covered many fields including samurai paintings and beauty paintings. His paintings were strange and bizarre, and his style was unstoppable. This exhibition displays more than 400 of his paintings, making it the largest solo exhibition in Osaka in 13 years, allowing us to experience the unique charm of Ukiyo-e art up close.
