You can clearly see Namsan Tower because its just next to it. The place is called Namsangol Hanok Village. So easy to go hear, just 5 minutes walking from train station. Later, due to extensive urban development, many hanoks were demolished. The government acquired this area and relocated five hanoks from other places to create Namsangol Hanok Village. The village showcases a range of residences, from the grand house of Min Yeong-hwi, a distant relative of Empress Myeongseong, in Jongno, to the homes of the Five Guards in Samcheong-dong, and the house of a carpenter in Samgak-dong. My favorite hanok village in Seoul is Namsangol hanok village. It is extremely easy to reach and it is perfectly located nearby Namsan tower and Myeongdong district. The story of the village that original old traditional buildings were moved to this spot to showcase Korean history and traditional architecture. So, they are actually really old! And it isn't a residential area, nobody lives there, so you wont feel bad about disturbing the locals. Tiny hanok village (no worries you won't disturb any locals, this place was created to commemorate traditional and historical architecture and nobody lives in this village) is located at the foot of Namsan hill, nearby Namsan tower and is a quiet and tranquil place perfect for both exploration of Korean traditional arquitecture and simply relaxing by the pond with koi fish and ducks. Village itself is closed on Mondays but you still can sit in the park or by the pond or in one of public traditional wooden buildings. #cherryblossom2024 Namsangol Hanok Village is one of the most distinctive tourist places. The cherry blossoms 🌸 are blooming in early April. The view of Seoul Tower from here is amazing! The ancient village is very nice and there are many activities suitable for children to experience traditional culture, interesting and traditional festivals take place. Many foreign guests mainly visit with their families. Therefore, it is a space with a lively atmosphere and no unnecessary noise. Entrance is free.

#koreatrip Superb to see how Koreans lived back in the day I love seeing this and comparing and contrasting with buildings back at home I just love how everything is the same but so different at the same time. This historical village is interactive I recall was a game where you had to throw sticks into a narrow pot extremely difficult needs some skills to get one in lol. You can also write a special message for loved ones and tie it to the moon house if I remember that name correctly. Overall a pretty cool place to pass some time in Seoul definitely recommend.

It is located at the foot of Namsan Mountain, and from there, you can see the N Seoul Tower in the distance. There is a Chinese version of the tourist map available for free at the entrance. According to the introduction, this village was created by relocating five traditional Korean houses scattered throughout the city area, and it has been well restored to the original scenery of the Hanok Village. It includes both the residences of the nobles from the Joseon Dynasty and the living houses of the common people. Bedrooms, guest rooms, kitchens, and the kimchi pots found in every household are all traditional residential facilities of Hanok and courtyards that have been fully opened to the public. Traditional Korean festivals and a variety of traditional cultural activities are held here every month, and there are also entertainment activities such as Korean music performances, mask dances, and stick throwing games every weekend. Visitors can also participate in trying hoop rolling, making straw crafts, wearing Hanbok, tea ceremonies, traditional music teaching, and etiquette teaching for a folk experience. The scenic area is not large and can be quickly toured. There are no restaurants or shops inside, and no accommodation is provided. 🔝After lunch, I first visited 📍Namsangol Hanok Village. To me, this place felt somewhat boring (years ago, I was not interested in Korea's historical and cultural buildings). However, maybe if I go now, I would appreciate the different functions of the buildings, and the experience might be better during festivals with folk activities. Namsangol Hanok Village brings together 5 selected Joseon Dynasty hanoks from Seoul, which have been relocated and restored (this way of concentrating them for easy viewing is commendable), forming a very charming cultural space. Namsangol Hanok Village has both the residences of the ruling class from the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910) - the Yangban, and the living houses of the common people, with the scale of the houses and the arrangement of furniture completely recreating the original scene. 🏯🏯🏯The five hanoks are: 1⃣The maternal home of Queen Sunjeonghyo Yoon (the wife of the 27th king of Joseon, Sunjong. There is a widely spread story: pro-Japanese forced Sunjong to stamp the 'Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty', but the queen hid the royal seal in her skirt and refused to hand it over); 2⃣The hermitage of Haengbok Prefectural Lord Yoon Je-ro (the father-in-law of the 27th king of Joseon, Sunjong); 3⃣The residence of Vice Minister Park Yeong-hyo (the husband of Princess Wonsu, the daughter of the 25th king of Joseon, Cheoljong, and a court lady); 4⃣The residence of Master Carpenter Lee Seung-yeop (the chief carpenter and construction supervisor of one of the Joseon royal palaces, Gyeongbokgung); 5⃣The mansion of Military Officer Kim Chun-young (a military man from the Joseon era).
