Wufangzhai is at the exit of South Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall. I ordered classic zongzi and wontons. 14:00–14:30 Meiwan Street A commercial street with a water bus. There are many people, so you need to wait in line for a long time. The bus runs every hour. You can take it if you have enough time. 15:00–15:30 Yuexiu Market 💰15 A local snack street. I bought Xiaoliang corn juice and a big chicken leg. I think the corn juice is just so-so. I don't like the taste of corn products. The fried chicken leg is really delicious and crispy. 15:50–17:00 Zicheng Ruins Park + Catholic Church + Pingshan Park These three attractions are close to each other and not very big. You can visit them together. Zicheng Ruins Park: The site of Jiaxing Prefecture's government office. Catholic Church: A very beautiful church. You can take photos there. Pingshan Park: Located across the street from the back gate of Zicheng. A small mountain park with an altitude of only 15 meters. It's nice to stroll around. 17:15–18:00 Moon River Historical Block + Flower and Bird Market 💰25 Moon River Street has art exhibitions, a flower and bird market, and a zongzi museum. It's worth visiting. I bought two zongzi from Zhenzhenlaolao. They are said to be a specialty of Jiaxing. How can I not try them? 19:11–20:10 G1674 Jiaxing–Shanghai West 💰23 Many trains from Jiaxing to Shanghai depart from Jiaxing South, which is a bit far from the city center. You can use the Jiaxing All-in-One Card on Alipay (Shanghai Transportation Card is also available. It can be used in many cities in China). You can also choose a shared e-bike. Nanhu Lake, a place full of historical culture and natural scenery, is not only the birthplace of the Communist Party but also famous for its scenery of "light smoke brushing the bank, a gentle breeze about to come." The Nanhu Scenic Area is free of charge, and a boat ride to the island in the center of the lake costs CNY 20 per person. First, visit the Nanhu Revolution Memorial Hall, then take a boat to the island in the center of the lake to admire the Nanhu Red Boat and experience the history and natural beauty of the birthplace of the Communist Party. Then, head to Xitang Ancient Town. Book a guesthouse within the scenic area online. Arrive in Xitang at nearly 3 pm, contact the guesthouse owner, park the car in the parking lot outside the scenic area near the visitor center, and take the necessities for overnight stay to the visitor center's rest area. Wait for the guesthouse owner to pick us up at 5 pm and take us to the hotel within the scenic area (free entry before 8 am and after 5 pm). Have dinner at Yuchunlou near the bridge in the scenic area, and enjoy a night tour of Xitang.
