Located to the west of the Presidential Palace in Nanjing, 1912 Street is home to over 30 bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops, all exuding the rich architectural style of the Republican era. The buildings on both sides of the street retain the architectural features of the Republic of China, arranged in an orderly manner, making you feel as if you have traveled back to the early 20th century. Walking through these alleys feels like stepping into a living history museum. This area has been revitalized into a leisurely pedestrian street. We visited a store of the Chinese-style tea brand, Tea Yanyue. In addition to being a chain tea shop, it is also a cultural and creative brand, offering a variety of self-made tea bags and snacks. Both the product names and packaging reflect traditional Chinese classical style. Attraction: Nanjing 1912 Location: Get off at Daxinggong Station on Nanjing Metro Line 2, walk 400 meters north along Taiping North Road.

Getting There - I took the didi from the Nanjing South Railway Station and it took less than half hour, maybe 15 minutes. Attractions - Take a walk around the lake. Sit at the waterfront and have a picnic. Hotels - Novotel Hotel along with a few other Western names were nearby. Food & Restaurants - So many options for good food, both Chinese and Western. Now this street has been turned into a beautiful restaurant and bar area with a little train to transport you around. This place is super busy at night with all the bars luring the university students of Nanjing to have a good time, but during the day, it is a very picturesque area with a broad range of restaurants from western to local Nanjing food.

The ambiance was spectacular and so was the service. The server was quick, efficient and friendly. The server helped recommend something for brunch and not one dish created any form of disappointment! We wanted to return next morning but instead went to Wine Thieves for breakfast. Welcome to Nanjing’s 1912! 📍How to get there - Block 1912 is located near Daxinggong subway station. (Subway lines 2/3) Attractions - Plenty of shops, coffee shops, restaurants and pub! I’d recommend you go there a night since most bars only open at 6pm! The lights are also very pretty so do go in the evening. 👌 Restaurants - Plenty! There are both Chinese and Western style restaurants. While visiting, I went to Black Clouds Beer House for a pint. (It’s located in front of Commune). I had the Woo Cloud IPA (58¥) and thought it was pretty decent. I also ordered fried chicken (heads up - it’s not boneless) so it was just ok. Next stop I went to Master Gao. Even though Nanjing 1912 block is one of the most happening place in Nanjing 🌟🎊 during the new year week it's quite opposite. The day I went on the first days of holidays more than half of the shops were closed and the street looks empty 🎨🚶. But still you can get in some restaurants like pizza Hut, KFC, Manhattan and so on. Getting there: Nearest metro station is daxingong 🚇 which is walkable distance from the street and I am not sure about the nearest exit. It also have a bus stop 🚌 right in front of the street. Getting There - I took a taxi and it cost about 25 yuan. Attractions - Music, vendors and various activities. Food & Restaurants - There are various western, Korean and Chinese restaurants. I dined at Commune and had some delicious. Definitely try the Bomb Bomb Shrimp if you go there. There's also places like Tims, Starbucks and a Thai Spa. Have been here for dinner twice. Today tried lunch with some friends. The mini buffet was not so mini. Good display, Quality and options are very nice. Everything about this salad bar was perfect. I did add a portion of pasta which was fantastic also. Though the salad bar was plenty. Fruits, coffee and cakes included was a very sweet ending of the meal Great place, fabulous staff. Highly recommended for lunch !
