Don't squeeze into the crowd at Jiming Temple anymore, come to Yongji Avenue to see the cherry blossoms!
👏 The cherry blossoms in Nanjing are in bloom, and the Cherry Blossom Avenue in front of Jiming Temple is crowded, and traffic control is also in place. Now, I recommend a new place to enjoy cherry blossoms with a broad view and beautiful scenery—the Mu Yan Riverside Scenic Area.
✅ The first rocky islet of the Yangtze River, Yanzi Ji (together with Chengling Ji in Yueyang and Caishi Ji in Ma'anshan, known as the 'Three Rocky Islets of the Yangtze River'), is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River. The sharp peak juts into the river like a swallow with its wings spread, ready to fly. This place, along with the adjacent Mufu Mountain, is known as the Mu Yan Riverside Scenic Area. There are quite a few historical and cultural landscapes in this area, including six of the 'Forty-eight Scenic Spots of Jinling': Yan Ji Evening Glow, Yongji River Flow, Damo Ancient Cave, Mufu Ascending, Hualong Beautiful Land, and Jiashan Hearing Sutras.
🌿 The landscape avenue that has been built in recent years between Mufu Mountain and the Yangtze River is Yongji Avenue. A few years ago, many cherry trees were planted on Yongji Avenue. Following the Cherry Blossom Avenue in front of Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, Nanjing Forestry University, and Gulin Park, this place has become a new favorite for Nanjing residents to enjoy cherry blossoms.
🌿 After several years of dedicated management, the supporting facilities along the river have also been gradually put in place, and the Yanzi Ji Tunnel has been opened. This place faces the Yangtze River with an open terrain, offering a panoramic view of the Yangtze River scenery, and the other side's Mufu Mountain has also gradually regained some of its former appearance. At the end of March, it is the time when cherry blossoms bloom, which is just right for enjoying the mountains, the water, and the cherry blossoms.
【Transportation】It is best to drive here by yourself, or you can take bus No. 8 to Yanzi Ji Park and then walk towards Wuma Du. Alternatively, take Metro Line 3 to Shangyuanmen Station, and then take the bus to Wuma Du Square.
【Dining Recommendation】The 'Again Seeing Jiangnan Garden Theme Restaurant' near Yanzi Ji Park, local dishes.
