In early spring, although the garden has not yet reached the best flower viewing period, a few clusters of winter jasmine, a few magnolia branches, and a camellia tree can all turn into a pleasant thing, and you will unconsciously feel a little comforted. The spring scenery of Nanyuan is like the light through the colored windows, colorful and dynamic. Through the windows and corridors in the garden, you can see the change of seasons. 40 minutes away from Kunming, in Anning City, there is a historical and cultural garden called Nanyuan. It was designed and supervised by the famous Chinese garden artist and Tongji University professor, Mr. Chen Congzhou. Completed in 1991, it is named after the nanmu wood used in its construction. The garden features water flowing around mountains, and mountains enlivened by water, with corridors, pavilions, halls, towers, and galleries. Each window has a unique design, creating a profound garden space effect. The place is beautiful and less crowded, making it perfect for photography, especially for styles like Hanfu and cheongsam. We visited again today. As a native of Annin, I always find myself unable to break the habit of walking in the park after meals or on weekends and holidays. It carries the development and changes of Annin, and Nanyuan to its south even holds the memories of generations of Annin people! Nanyuan, located to the south of Baihua Park, was completed and opened in December 1991. The halls, pavilions, towers, and corridors in the garden are all built with the precious 'nanmu' wood, hence the name 'Nanyuan'. Nanyuan is so named because the halls, pavilions, towers, and furniture in the garden are all made of nanmu wood, and nanmu trees are planted in the garden. The preciousness of nanmu wood comes from its hard and decay-resistant quality, long life, and wide range of uses. Nanmu grows slowly and only after a hundred years of wind and rain does it become a material for beams and pillars. Now, Annin Nanyuan Park is open to the public for free. The ancient charm of Annin Nanyuan has attracted filmmakers to shoot period dramas here several times. According to the people who provided the nanmu wood, between the founding of New China and 1992, they only supplied nanmu wood for construction twice, the first time for the construction of Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall, and the second time for the construction of Annin Nanyuan. Nanyuan covers an area of 10 acres, including 1,045 square meters of buildings, 1,898 square meters of water surface, 3,411 square meters of garden green space, and 313 square meters of walking trails.
