Napa Lake is not far from the old town of Shangri-La. You can visit and enjoy the natural scenery, the lake, the lush green meadows, herds of horses, and yaks. Additionally, you can rent traditional Tibetan costumes for photos here. Napa Lake is over 3000 meters above sea level, so you can see meadows, water, and snow from here. During the day, although the sun is quite strong, the weather is not hot because of the constant strong wind. Heidou Café in Napahai, Shangri-La, is an absolute hidden treasure! As a mom of two kids, finding a place where both adults and children can relax and enjoy is always a priority, and this café exceeded all our expectations. The cozy, rustic ambiance with stunning views of Napahai Lake was the perfect setting for a peaceful break during our trip. The menu offers a great mix of local and Western dishes, which was perfect for my picky eaters. My kids loved the homemade pastries, while I enjoyed a perfectly brewed cup of local coffee. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. What made Heidou Café stand out is the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the serene atmosphere, which allowed us to soak in the beauty of Shangri-La while having a quiet, quality family time. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with great food and an unbeatable view!

Na Pa Hai is a lowland valley surrounded by impressive mountains, there is a large lake in the middles encircled by vast grasslands. The grass is green, the air is fresh, the water is pure, the sky is blue, and the animals are free. Although, none of that compares to what makes this place really special. What makes this place extra special is that the environment, animals and community are cared for vigorously by the locals. Our friendly hotelier informed us that; While still selling horse rides and pictures with lambs and yaks to tourists, the animals are required to be rotated every lunch, and are to be kept in fields with size regulations. Local hotels and eateries only use/sell locally sourced food and water to support farmers.
