#2022展 #国外游 This is a very large museum, founded in 1867, with a very long history. The collection inside is very rich. If you take your time, you can spend most of the day here. It houses archaeological discoveries from prehistoric times to the 19th century, including coins, stamps, ornaments, tableware, furniture, sculptures, decorative arts, etc. - the variety is very wide. This computer that is hundreds of years old in the archaeological museum has been studied for a long time, but I still can't understand how it works. #celebrateit Was thinking to do Prado museum (free 2hrs before closing) but was turned away by the huge line, then resorted to this museum that I happened to pass by earlier. Which turned out to be the best archaeological museum I’ve ever been to, everywhere in the world including those in China/Europe. I’m blessed to have found this place out. Archaeology usually is associated with dated/old/ruggedness, which in turn tends to disinterest the crowd. But it is not remotely the case here. The museum adopts a modern trendy style of display/architecture, which totally detaches archaeology from its stereotype. And almost every single artifact was accompanied by easy-to-read interesting paragraph. And the artifact collection is MASSIVE. It easily took me 3hours while I just casually walked around the place, and I still had around 1/2 of the place unexplored. Insane. It turned out that Spain was the gateway for ancient human to come to Europe from Africa, that’s why Spain has been the most important sites for archaeological studies and obviously making full use of it. The most jaw-dropping part of it is that despite the top-notch awesomeness, its regular admission fee is 3€, and even free on Sat and Sun?!! 10/10, really.

I went to the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid! It's a facility that introduces human history and the origins of Spain with various exhibits, and I was overwhelmed by the number of exhibits! I originally went to see a soccer game, so I didn't do much research, but since the admission fee was 3€, I decided to go and kill some time. Then, for some reason, the receptionist told me that it was free, so I put my luggage in a locker (1€ needed, it was returned) and went to see the exhibits. I started from the first floor, but if I had taken my time to go around the third floor, it would probably take about 3 hours to see everything. Because of the soccer game, I could only stay for about an hour and a half, but I was very satisfied. Explanations of the exhibits were given in Spanish and English. The receptionists were all very friendly, and I felt like I wanted to come back and take my time. If you go to Madrid, please do visit!
