The garden is the epitome of lush tropical islands. It combines original woods and professional flower gardens. It has more than 20,000 subtropical and tropical exotic flowers and rare trees, which can be divided into tropical and subtropical evergreen trees, palms, bamboo garden flowers, aquatic flowers, etc. Plants, including bog, parasitic and desert plants, include many endangered species.

🌿 Singapore Botanic Gardens: A Lush Escape (With a Side of Lizard Drama) 🦎
#singaporetrip
Picture this: I walked into the Singapore Botanic Gardens expecting a peaceful morning… but ended up in a tropical wonderland where nature really runs the show. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers and damp earth, and the symphony of birds and cicadas made it feel like a living postcard. 🌺
The "OMG" Moment: Just as I was admiring the rainbow explosion of orchids in the National Orchid Garden, a giant monitor lizard decided to photobomb my pics. It strolled past like it owned the place (which, let’s be real, it kinda does). I froze, it blinked, and we both went about our day. Only in Singapore! 😂
Hidden Gem Alert: Tucked away near the Symphony Lake, there’s a quiet little spot with benches under towering trees—perfect for pretending you’re in a fairy tale. (Bonus: Great for naps if you’re slightly sleep-deprived like me.)
Foodie Must-Do: After all that walking, I rewarded myself with a chilled coconut ice cream from a little kiosk near the entrance. Creamy, sweet, and exactly what I needed in the tropical heat. For a heartier bite, the nearby hawker stalls serve up killer nasi lemak—think fragrant coconut rice, crispy anchovies, and spicy sambal. 🤤
Quick & Easy Itinerary:
⏰ 8 AM: Start at Tanglin Gate—avoid the heat and crowds.
⏰ 9 AM: Explore the Orchid Garden (so many colors!).
⏰ 10:30 AM: Chill by the Swan Lake (watch for turtles!).
⏰ 12 PM: Grab lunch at a nearby hawker center (follow the delicious smells).
Pro Tip: Bring water, sunscreen, and your best "I’m not scared of lizards" face. Also, weekdays = fewer people!
This place is Singapore’s ultimate green escape—equal parts serene and wild. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. (But maybe I’ll let the lizards go first next time.)

The Best Botanical Garden in Singapore
#singaporetrip an ideal place for naturalists, the plants are really wonderful and the park is well organized. The place is clean , and the air is fresh. There's a lot of animals crossing here and there without getting bothered by tourists which show the peaceful interaction between human and the animals. Really love the flora and fauna there, a good place for photos too!

On 1 Jan t
On 1 Jan the national orchid garden was having free entry for the locals and it was a nice visit . Beautiful flowers, well kept and reasonable walk . Enjoyed just looking the rare species in the mist dome. Even without feee entry I think this place is worth a visit now and then . Do bring your family along as it’s educational, fun and less crowded compared to to gardens by the bay
