All Moments About Sotogahama
[Aomori] The farthest reaches of Aomori
Tsugaru region of Aomori prefecture.
Looking at the map, it is located at the top left of the peninsula.
We headed to Cape Tappi, the very end of the world.
We went there when the sun was setting, and the view was spectacular.
There was also a winter scene of the Tsugaru Peninsula playing lol
It's a place that's hard to get to, but I hope you'll visit it at least once😊

Aomori Cherry Blossoms and Ocean Healing at Sotogahama Coast 🌸🌊
#cherryblossom25
In May, the trees around Oirase Gorge still weren't fully green, but with the perfect weather yesterday, I decided to do a hiking day along Sotogahama Coast. Let me share my full day itinerary!
Morning in Aomori 🌅
Started the day capturing the cherry blossoms and snow-capped mountains in Aomori. 📸
Traveling to Sotogahama Coast 🚉
After returning to Aomori Station, I grabbed a Sotogahama Coast route map from the tourist information center.
11:05 AM: Took the train from Aomori Station to Shin-Aomori Station (11:27 AM).
11:52 AM: Took the train from Shin-Aomori to Hachinohe Station (12:15 PM).
12:24 PM: From Hachinohe to Sotogahama Coast Station (12:57 PM). 🚂
Afternoon at Sotogahama Coast 🏖️
13:00 - 15:00: I went on the coastal hike around Sotogahama Coast. Passed by beautiful grasslands (natural lawns), pine forests, white beach bathing areas, and Osuga Coast. 🌿
You don't have to walk on the beach, as there are grassy fields and reed swamps to explore instead. 🌾
Took a break at a cafe with an ocean view, where I highly recommend trying their delicious ice cream! 🍦.
Captured more scenic shots at the viewpoint
Evening Exploration 🌅
15:46 PM: Took the train from Sotogahama Viewpoint Station to Uwajima Seaside Park Station (15:55 PM), where I visited Uwajima Shrine. 🏯
16:54 PM: From Uwajima Station to Hachinohe Station (17:18 PM).
17:30 PM: Train ride from Hachinohe to Shin-Aomori Station, finishing my coastal adventure by 17:54 PM. 🚋

I visited Tappizaki, the hometown of Japan's famous song in Aomori!
Tappizaki in Aomori is located at the northernmost tip of the Tsugaru Peninsula, jutting out towards Hokkaido✨
So, if the weather is clear, you can see Hokkaido👀
Additionally, it is surrounded by the Sea of Japan to the west, Mutsu Bay to the east, and the Tsugaru Strait to the north, making it famous for its strong winds🌪️
It's best to avoid getting too close when the wind is too strong.
Also, don't forget that Tappizaki is the setting for Sayuri Ishikawa's famous song 'Tsugaru Kaikyo Fuyugeshiki'!
When you visit, there is a monument, and if you press the button in front of the monument, 'Tsugaru Kaikyo Fuyugeshiki' will play loudly🎵
Seikan Tunnel Museum
"Fukushima Town Seikan Tunnel Memorial
Museum" is located along National Route 228.
There are JAF discounts, but the best deal is the set ticket (700 yen for adults) that includes the Yokozuna Chiyonoyama/Chiyonofuji Memorial Hall, which is a few hundred meters away.
Although it is smaller and more compact than the Seikan Tunnel Memorial Museum on the Aomori side, the materials are displayed in an easy-to-understand manner and I learned a lot.
It was built to Shinkansen standards from the planning stage, and the sight of the Hokkaido Shinkansen passing through it today must have had a lot to do with the thoughts of those involved in its construction at the time.
Where dragons meet the mountains and sea
This is Cape Tappizaki, situated in Sotogahama, Aomori prefecture. It takes approximately 1 and a half hours drive from Aomori city Center. The name comes from the strong wind that blows as if a dragon has flown past. The view is just spectacular 😍 On a clear day, you can even see Hokkaido and Cape Oma! It was a great relaxing trip and I think it would be great to have a picnic there 😄
A rare staircase on a national highway in Japan!
Have you heard of the National Highway Stairs?
Near Cape Tappi on the Tsugaru Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, there is National Highway Route 339, which is made up of stairs, just as the name suggests!
However, because it is made up of stairs, only pedestrians can access this national highway!
There is a large parking lot nearby, so you can park your car and walk there!
