The Taiwan Museum of Prehistoric Culture is located in Taitung City. It was established on August 17, 2002. It belongs to the field museum built on the site of the archaeological site, referred to as the "Prehistoric Museum". This museum was established mainly to rescue the Beinan Ruins in Taitung. In July 1980, due to the construction of Beinan Station (now Taitung Station) on the Southern Loop Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration, they unintentionally unearthed the Beinan Cultural Site, which contains a large number of cultural relics. The museum is currently divided into three major themes to display different types of cultural relics, namely Taiwan's natural history, Taiwan's prehistory and Taiwan's Austronesian peoples. The museum was not built directly on the archaeological site, but also built the Beinan Cultural Park to preserve the site. The architectural design for the Prehistoric Museum was selected after an international competition, and the architect was Michael Graves. The entire museum is about 10 hectares, with the museum to the east and the cultural park to the west.

Peinan Prehistoric Museum
This museum, located in Peinan Township, Taiwan, focuses on showcasing the Peinan culture and its prehistoric sites, which fills me with anticipation.
Upon arriving at the museum, the first thing that caught my eye was its modern and culturally rich architecture. The exterior design is full of local characteristics, making me feel the strong Peinan atmosphere. After entering the museum, I first visited the historical exhibition area to learn about the origins and lifestyle of the Peinan people.
Among the various exhibits, I was particularly attracted to the exquisite pottery and stone tools, which are testimonies to the local history. The museum's guides were very professional, providing in-depth and easy-to-understand explanations of the stories behind each exhibit, giving me a deeper understanding of Peinan culture.
In the afternoon, I took a walk on the nature trails around the museum, enjoying the beauty of nature and reminiscing about the learning experience I just had. This trip to the Peinan Prehistoric Museum not only cultivated my mind but also gave me a deeper understanding of Taiwan's historical culture.
Ending the day's itinerary, I drove home with a heart full of emotions and knowledge. The visit to the Peinan Prehistoric Museum gave me a new perspective on the past and sparked my strong interest in history, looking forward to the next cultural journey.
