The National Museum of Singapore is a wonderful place to learn about the country’s history and culture. I recently visited this museum and had a memorable experience. The museum itself is very impressive. It has a beautiful building with a mix of old and modern architecture. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are stepping into a grand historical space. The inside is just as stunning, with large, open rooms and interesting exhibits. One of the first things I noticed was the "Singapore History Gallery." This gallery is like a journey through time, showing how Singapore has changed from a small fishing village to a bustling modern city. There are many displays with old photographs, maps, and even historical objects. It’s amazing to see how much Singapore has grown and developed over the years. Another highlight of the visit was the "Living Galleries." These galleries focus on daily life in Singapore, showcasing the different ways people lived and worked in the past. There are displays of traditional clothing, old household items, and even replicas of old shops and street scenes. It felt like I was walking through the streets of old Singapore. The museum also has interactive exhibits, which make learning even more fun. For example, there are touch screens where you can explore more about certain topics or play games related to Singapore’s history. These interactive elements help make the experience engaging and educational. One of the most interesting parts of the museum is the “Rotunda” area. This space often hosts special exhibitions and events. When I visited, there was an exhibition about Singapore’s cultural heritage. It included artworks, traditional crafts, and performances. #nationalday Singapore's National Day lights up once a years in Singapore Many hymns to praise | Singapore's National Museum has another National Day coming up and lights up the red light on the first day to take photos, but now there are not many people who finish dinner and take a walk at night. It's really comfortable not to take photos. #mysgmemories Address - 93 Stamford Rd, Singapore 178897 Ambiance / highlights - Glass Rotunda Rating - 5/5 My hubby and I were very impressed with the story of the forest glass rotunda show. The bright beautiful colours bring us to the past of the fort canning park where we get close to the animals there. For that moment, I really feel like I am bad to the past and living in the fairy dream land. It is really a very worthy place to visit. The glass rotunda is located at the national museum. The opening hours are until 6pm in the evening.

Free admission for Singaporean and permanent resident, daily from 10.am to 7pm.

#mysgmemories My hubby and I walked from Armenian Street towards the national museum of Singapore. We went during the evening time and that's when the show starts. We watched the story of Sang nila utama and how Singapore was founded during the days. We stood there for about half an hour to watch the show. The place was crowded on the weekends. It is also a great place to take some insta-worthy pictures to put onto my Instagram account. Next year my hubby and I will come back again to see the night festival at the national museum of Singapore.

To follow the 2023’s themed which is Singapore, the Great Port City, this year’s projection is a story line that happens every 15 mins. Versus previous years where it is about every 5 mins our wait. The story talks about Sang Nila Utama sacrificing his crown and finally how he found Singapore after a thunderstorm.

Near by is an installation A Stone’s throw away which is in relation to the Singapore stone that was blew up. 

Opposite the museum is where the food and beverage area are, however we chose not to enter this year to avoid the bag check.

#singaporetrip A well told story of Singapore origin and pivotal moments in history that has led to the bustling place that it is today. The display is chronologically based with the 1st floor being the 18th century then to the arrival of Britain to the development of a major port then to the fall to the Japanese then the separation from Malaysia and being independent to what is it today as the modern Singapore. There is a Story of the Forest exhibit in the Glass Rotunda on level 2 - best for small kids. The types of tree display was useful as help to identified the type of specimens a lot of the old trees around Singapore. The place is well maintained and managed.Went here to be enlightened how this little nation turned out to be one of the most successful country in a short span of time, was not disappointed. The interior is amazing as well. It is also connected to Fort Canning which will give you more insights of their history. A must-visit for both locals and tourists. Wonderful exhibits which appeal to all ages, from young to old. Always love the changing exhibitions - we visited the On/Off exhibition this time showcasing technologies from the 1970s to the 2000s.
