The Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, located in Park No. 6, was formerly the Taiwan Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. It is surrounded by large green areas. The city government specially planned this green park as an art park. Before visiting the museum, you may want to take a look at the large landscape sculptures displayed here.
The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts covers an area of approximately 9,630 square meters. It is a three-story building with one underground floor. It houses departments such as research, exhibition, collection, promotion, information center, lecture and audio-visual, and administrative offices. The exhibition venue includes 18 exhibition rooms, an art street about 100 meters long, and an art plaza of nearly 800 square meters. In addition to the general exhibition space, the museum also has two special exhibition rooms dedicated to laser art, light art, kinetic art, video art and computer art, making the exhibition themes more comprehensive and diverse.
The museum's collection room mainly contains works by deceased artists, as well as works by Taiwanese artists from the Ming and Qing dynasties and contemporary artists, including Chinese paintings, Western paintings and artifacts; the museum's information center collects domestic and foreign art drawings, films, tapes, slides and artist materials for research reference. It is an open art street and art plaza with a cultural relic supply department, coffee shop, etc., which can be used for both viewing exhibitions and relaxing.
In addition, the museum also regularly holds lectures and exhibitions, and publishes books, journals, reproductions, picture albums, etc. to meet the needs of art lovers.
The birth of the Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts comes from Taiwan Housing’s corporate spirit of “deepening its roots in Taiwan, loving Taiwan, and understanding Taiwan.” With its love for Taiwan, it provides a multicultural space, supports art, and promotes public welfare activities. By leveraging the group’s resources at home and abroad, we support the growth and continued creation of local Taiwanese artists, provide a platform for the development of art, and support artists to step onto the international stage.
