Nengren Temple: A Place of Zen and Tranquility
I took a weekend trip to Nengren Temple in Jiaxing, a place of tranquility that felt like a pure land outside the world, where my body and mind were surrounded by an ancient and peaceful atmosphere.
As I approached the temple, I was greeted by yellow walls, black tiles, and flying eaves, exuding a sense of ancient solemnity. The half-open temple gate seemed to be a portal to another world, quietly inviting every visitor. As I stepped inside, I was instantly enveloped by a sense of tranquility, and the noise and chaos of the world were instantly isolated outside. The courtyard was deep, and the stone path meandered forward, leading me to explore this Zen world.
As I strolled around, the incense smoke rose, seemingly carrying the devout wishes of the believers. Inside the Mahavira Hall, the solemn and serene Buddha statues inspired awe. The sunlight filtered through the carved windows, casting fragmented shadows, as if telling the story of the past. I stood still, feeling the peace within me gradually spreading throughout my body, and the troubles of the world seemed to dissipate.
The inscriptions and calligraphy in the temple silently bear the memories of history. Every mark and every word tells the story of Nengren Temple's trials and tribulations over the years. As I gently touched the mottled stone tablets, I seemed to feel the warmth of history, imagining the prosperity and splendor of the ancient temple, and lamenting the ruthlessness of time and the impermanence of the world.
I found a stone bench in a corner of the courtyard and sat down, listening to the rustling of the leaves in the breeze and the occasional sound of the bell. The bell's clear and melodious sound seemed to penetrate my soul, washing away the distractions in my heart. At that moment, time seemed to slow down, and my body and mind were immersed in this tranquil place, and the tension of everyday life gradually relaxed.
Nengren Temple also has a tea room for visitors to rest and enjoy tea. I sat down with a cup of tea in hand, watching the tea leaves unfold and float in the water, the fragrance of tea filling the air with a sense of Zen. Here, I chatted with the monks or other visitors, sharing our insights and stories, feeling peaceful and calm.
As the sun set, casting a golden glow over the temple, I reluctantly got up to leave. Looking back at Nengren Temple, I felt grateful and nostalgic. This trip to Nengren Temple was not just a simple journey for me, but a spiritual practice and baptism. In this chaotic world, it is rare to find such a place of tranquility, where one can escape the noise and return to one's true self. I know that no matter where I am, the tranquility and Zen of Nengren Temple will remain in my heart, becoming a source of peace and comfort, constantly reminding me to find inner peace and tranquility amidst the noise of life.
