Chongqing New World Hotel: A New Interpretation of Japanese Luxury
The hotel, which had been preparing for trial operation as Chongqing Yuhu Hotel for nearly a year, officially opened as Chongqing New World Hotel at the end of last month.
The hotel is ideally located, adjacent to the national tourist attraction Xiuhu Park, occupying the heart of the peninsula of Bishan Yuhu, achieving a Chongqing version of 'one island, one hotel.'
The hotel features Japanese luxury, with the black hotel main body wrapped in large green plants and flowers as soon as you enter. The black and red color scheme of the lobby is very grand. The ultra-large panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrance, combined with the endless lake view, are very stunning. The lobby descends to the hot spring area, swimming pool, gym, spa center, and restaurant. The courtyard-style atrium has an outdoor water feature with a fountain and rockery, which I really like, especially when it rains, it feels very special. Several guest rooms are scattered around the lobby.
This time, I stayed in the Deluxe Lake View Suite 5603, which is concentrated in Building 5. The room is Japanese-style, with an area of 65 square meters. The living room has two glass walls with excellent lake views. The bedroom borrows JMG's balcony-free design, which is very high-end. The welcome fruit comes with a handwritten card, and the minibar includes four capsule coffees and soft drinks, all free. Interestingly, the bathroom is equipped with a SPA bed, and you can book a therapist for a SPA. The therapists are currently all foreign, from Thailand or Indonesia, and their standards are very high.
I also visited several other room types this time. The Leisure Suite (pictures 9 to 11) is another Japanese style, with the living room and bedroom facing the hot spring area, and the window view instantly transports you to Kyoto. The Executive King Room (picture 12) and the basic room have the same style, featuring light luxury in gray tones, with a bit of a Rosewood feel.
As a resort hotel, breakfast is available until eleven o'clock, which is really great. The variety is not much, but there are local specialties such as oil tea and pea noodles.
The recreation center is of a high standard. The gym has an entire floor with a separate professional power rack and a full set of imported Life Fitness equipment. The pool is 40 meters long, comparable to many swimming pools.
As a resort hotel, the hotel is equipped with a hot spring area (currently not open in summer), a small botanical garden, and a children's playground. Additionally, just outside the island is the Southeast Asian Style Street.
Currently, the hotel price starts at 500. When the hot spring opens in winter, it is estimated that there will be no competitors at the same price in Chongqing.
