#favouriteitinerary #ngwesaungbeach Ngwe Saung beach is one of the most popular beaches in Myanmar with the most beautiful beachfront resorts, located in Ayarwaddy Region of Myanmar. Getting there from Yangon takes only about 6 hours with the bus. It is typically not recommended to take other forms of transportation as they are not as convenient. You will pass by Pathein city on the way, it’s recommended to make a stop there to try the local cuisine! The beach has an island that you can visit only while the tide is low. A path will appear to visit “Chit Thu Kyoon” translated to lover’s island, when the tide rises again - the path will close off. The locals have a folktale about a mermaid and human’s love story. The beach also have fun activities for you to go on a yacht & scuba dive for less than $50 also! They also have banana boats, parasailing, etc. Most of all, the seafood there is dirt cheap!! Try out the lobsters for less than $10.

Ngwesaung is a beach resort located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. It is the namesake of Ngwesaung Subtownship, Pathein Township. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people. The beach is 5 hours drive, with no traffic, away from the principal city of Yangon, and an airport is in the works. Buses leave at 6am & 9:30pm from in front of the Yangon Central Railway Station. Opened in March 2000. Ngwe Hsaung is newer than nearby and more popular Chaung Thar Beach, and is designed to attract people with larger holiday budgets. The hotel we stayed is Center Point Ngwe Saung Beach Resort I recommend it because of these reasons.
