The entire market was filled with people's lines. We went to the place with the shortest line first and waited for an hour before entering the restaurant. I ordered tuna salmon roe rice bowl, which cost about 36,000 won. As soon as I took a bite, the seafood melted and the savory flavor danced in my mouth. It was so, so delicious. No matter where you go in the market, it's all delicious, so I hope you stop by Nijo Market and eat a lot.

I’d recommend anyone to come here if they were ever in Sapporo. The place can be found on google maps, just search up “Nijo Market” and let the phone do the rest. Nijo market is one of the most popular fish market in Sapporo, they not only sell fresh seafood but also many fruits and sashimi! This is the best place to buy dried scallops, their scallops are so huge and thick with a reasonable price. They also sell fresh fruits, especially melon and strawberries as they are famous for it. You can also buy white strawberry here, apparently the white strawberry is much sweeter and of course the price will be higher as well. We chance upon this sashimi place and just joined in the queue, the sashimi was so fresh and delicious, it come with free water/ tea and miso soup! And it only cost less than $30 for a bowl of think cut and fresh sashimi! Most of their sashimi bowl has uni and somehow their uni here are so sweet and fresh. Highly recommend to try their sashimi here if you’re in Sapporo. This market suits all ages, come early in there mornjng to see fresh fish and seafood. They are famous for snow crab as well, you can just pick your crab and they can steam it for you immediately. This is a fun experience that you don’t want to miss!

Sakanaya, located across from Nijo Market, is a kaisendon specialty restaurant. I was planning to revisit 'Donbe' that I posted about earlier, but I wanted to try other places, so I visited. I ordered the 3,300 yen kaisendon. The reason I was surprised when the food came out!? The shrimp were alive...😦 You can see how fresh it was, right? It was fluttering around until I almost finished eating my rice...! In addition, there were so many seafoods on top, such as tuna, salmon, salmon roe, scallops, conch, white fish, octopus, and sea urchin roe, and I was amazed the whole time I was eating. When seafood is sweet, it means it's really fresh and delicious, right? There are so many great restaurants in Nijo Market.. The interior of the restaurant is not that big, but they used the space well, and it was full of other customers.
