It's amazing that it's free! It's not too big, so you can get around at a reasonable pace. The cafe is cute because it serves animal-themed lunches and sweets! I went to Nogeyama Zoo in Yokohama. You can walk there from Yokohama Station, or take the train or bus, which is even easier. I was able to take my time looking around at the various animals. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the animal interaction corner requires a reservation. It seems best to be careful if you want to enjoy the interaction corner. #0yentrip

A free zoo within walking distance from Sakuragicho Station in Yokohama! "Nogeyama Zoo" A zoo that is so satisfying you'd never guess it's free, where you can see a variety of animals, including large animals like giraffes and lions, bears, and red pandas! It's just the right size, so 2-3 hours is enough There's also a shop and restaurant inside It might be a good idea to stop by while sightseeing in Yokohama! #JuneTravelSupportEvent It was free admission and there was no waiting because it was a weekday. I was able to see a variety of animals and they were well managed. My child really enjoyed the unexpected experience of petting guinea pigs and mice. (Reservations are required, but since there was no line, we were able to use it without a reservation.)

#thingstodo It's free to enter the zoo. There's a variety of animals, including red pandas, chimpanzees, lions, birds, reptiles, bears, and giraffes, all well taken care of (maybe they could consider adding a fish collection though). Each cage is numbered, making it easy to navigate the zoo and see all the animals. There's a feeding time schedule each day where you can watch animals being fed while keepers provide information about them (you can check the schedule on their website). There's also a small animal show that requires reservation before entry. It's so much fun seeing the animals, making it a perfect place for a picnic.

#2024wish Built in the 1950's with the concept of getting to experience animals up close, this Zoo has an assortment of different animals that you can get to fairly closely. The highlight for me was the red panda and the giraffe 🦒 It's a publicly funded Zoo so there is no entrance fee. There a place to eat inside the zoo near the entrance and at the entrance there is a gift shop. The facility is well maintained and you'd never guess it was made in the 1950's. Lots of stairs and the zoo is built on a steep incline and not friendly for people with strollers and wheelchairs.

Nogeyama Zoo is a free municipal zoological garden that opened in April 1951 under the name “Nogeyama Amusement Park”. We went 2nd week of December in 2018, and there was a Christmas tree at the entrance. This is a small zoo but there are variety of animals. And they are well taken care of.
