I was tired from cycling around Teshima, so I took a break. I had a cafe at the Seaside Restaurant. This restaurant is located along the coast and has a great view. The pizza is apparently delicious, so they brought it to me fresh from the handmade oven. Yokoo Tadanori also has art works on display in Teshima. I had some time before the return boat from Ieura Port, so I went in. In the previous Yokoo World, he incorporated primary colors into the old houses as much as he could. I took a ferry to Teshima in Kagawa Prefecture. It took about 40 minutes from Takamatsu Port to reach Ieura Port. It can also be accessed from the opposite shore, Okayama Prefecture. A local told me about it in the morning, so I rented a bicycle and went to Teshima Espoir Park for a morning cafe. It just opened last year. You can take a ferry to access to this one of the most beautiful islands around Kagawa. It is pretty small to explore but feels so good for just relaxing and spending time with great nature. About transportation, unfortunately there are not so many buses however, you can rent a car or even bikes that is enough for exploring all around the island.

The 51st Fudasho "Hotobo" and the 52nd Fudasho "Former Hachimangu" are located in the same precincts and have long been worshipped by people. The highlight is the giant tree of Shinpak towering on the east side of the precincts. Shinpak is an evergreen coniferous tree of the genus Cypress that grows naturally on the coasts of Shikoku and Kyushu. Hoshoin's Shinpak boasts a masterpiece with a circumference of about 16.9 metres and a tree height of about 20.9 metres, and is said to be the largest in Japan. It is said that it was hand-planted by the 15th Emperor Ojin during the Kofun period, and the tree is over 1,600 years old. It was designated as a national special natural monument in 1955.

Angel Road is a sandbar connecting Nakamae Island, where Tonosho Port is located, to Benten Island. During high tide, the sandbar is submerged, but during low tide, it emerges from the water and becomes walkable, extending all the way to Oyo Island. When we checked in at the Sora Umiro Hotel on the hillside at around 5 PM on October 20, Angel Road was still underwater. While most visitors stood at one end observing, we waded across barefoot through the shallow water. The next morning at 06:40, Angel Road had emerged several centimeters above the water surface, making it easy to walk to Nakayo Island and Oyo Island. After walking back and forth on Angel Road, we climbed to the Yokusonotoka Observatory to get a bird's-eye view of Angel Road, which was absolutely beautiful. October 20/21, 2024 Angel Road
