Day 3 of Tokyo, Japan travel itinerary
#Travel Course
1. Komeraku
⏰ Business hours: 11:00~22:00
Japanese ochazuke (お茶漬け) is a dish where you put toppings on rice and pour tea (or broth) over it.
At Komeraku, you can enjoy ochazuke with various toppings (salmon, unagi, tuna, etc.).
It has a soft and light taste, so it's easy to eat without feeling burdened! 😋
I heard there might be a long wait, so I went right at the opening time and was able to enter right away~
👉 Recommended menu!
✔️ Salmon and ikura (salmon roe) ochazuke 🐟
✔️ Karaage
2. Hanazono Shrine
⏰ Business hours: Open 24 hours
💰 Admission: Free
It's a traditional shrine located in the heart of Tokyo. It's small, but the atmosphere is very peaceful.
There were a lot of people, maybe because it was New Year's! ✔️ A shrine where you can pray for your wishes and love luck
✔️ 5-minute walk from Shinjuku
3. Isetan Shinjuku 🏬
⏰ Operating hours: 10:00~20:00
This is a top-class department store representing Tokyo.
The food section is especially famous, so it's great for buying traditional Japanese sweets and desserts. 🎁
I thought the department store would be too complicated, so I looked up the places I wanted to see in advance on the floor guide!
✔️ Noir de Beurre (a great place to eat financiers) on the first basement floor: There's a bit of a wait, so make sure to leave plenty of time.
I think I waited about 20~30 minutes.
4. Shinjuku Gyoen
⏰ Operating hours: 9:00~16:30 (Last admission at 16:00)
💰 Admission: Adults 500 yen, students 250 yen, children free (You can use the Welcome Suica!)
This is a large park where you can enjoy nature in the middle of Tokyo!
Starbucks inside the park is also famous for its great view~
✔️ A harmonious combination of a Japanese garden, French garden, and lawn
✔️ The best place to visit during cherry blossom season (spring) and autumn foliage season (fall)
5. Beams Japan
⏰ Operating hours: 11:00~20:00
If you're looking for local Japanese brands, Beams Japan is the place to go!
There are many Tokyo-only goods and unique fashion items, so it's a great place to buy souvenirs.
✔️ Street fashion & lifestyle items with a Japanese feel
✔️ 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station
6. Horumon Futago
⏰ Operating hours: 17:00~23:30
If you like meat, you must try hormone (tripe) in Shinjuku!
'Hormone Futago' is a tripe specialty restaurant popular with locals.
You can taste fresh tripe and various cuts of beef. 🥩
There is a Korean menu and the meat is grilled, so it's easy to eat👍👍
✔️ Recommended menu!
✅ Assorted hormone (gopchang + makchang + yeottong)
✅ Thick beef ribs grilled
7. Omoide Yokocho
⏰ Most stores open from 17:00 to 24:00
This place, which means 'Memory Alley', is full of retro sensibility.
Small izakayas are packed in a narrow alley, so you can really enjoy the local Japanese atmosphere!
The stores are small and there are a lot of people, so I went into any empty seats, but it was so delicious~
The place I visited only accepted cash. Just in case, make sure to bring cash!
✔️ Recommended yakitori (chicken skewers), sake, and Asahi draft beer
✔️ A bar with a nice atmosphere that local office workers visit after work
