In December, I spent 10 days traveling from Kunming to Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri-La. I stayed in each place for 2 to 3 days. I wanted a clean, comfortable, and safe place to stay with a good view and a convenient location. I did some research online and chose these 4 hotels/guesthouses. They were all great and I had a wonderful experience. Jinse Zaiye Courtyard, Panhai Ranch, Shangri-La: Located in Napa Sea Yila Prairie, I booked a room with a courtyard where I could see the snow-capped mountains and grasslands. I had breakfast with the animals every day. Staying here was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was only a 15-20 minute drive to Dukezong Ancient Town and Songzanlin Monastery, which was very convenient. Wendini Seaview Resort Hotel (Shuanglang Erhai Store), Dali: I was amazed by the beauty of the hotel as soon as I entered. I booked a sea view room where I could see the stunning view of Erhai Lake. The hotel paid attention to details. Although the price was not cheap, it included pick-up, breakfast, dinner, and sweet soup. The room was well-equipped. It was actually very cost-effective. Jinmao Purelax Mountain Hotel Lijiang, In the Unbound Collection by Hyatt: The hotel was garden-style with a beautiful environment. It was located in Shuhe Ancient Town, a 30-minute drive to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and a 20-minute drive to Lijiang Ancient Town and Baisha Ancient Town. I mainly went to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, so I booked a snow view room. I could see the beautiful snow-capped mountains from the room, which was really worth it. The hotel also had many cute animals and a rich breakfast. Overall, I was very satisfied. Novotel Kunming Dianchi Times Square: The price was less than 400 per night, which was very cost-effective! I mainly stayed in Kunming to adapt to the altitude, so the location and surroundings of the hotel were more important. The hotel itself did not need to be too luxurious. Novotel was only a 15-minute drive from the train station. It was next to Nanya City, which had many dining and shopping options. It was also close to Fuhai Subway Station, which was convenient to go to Dianchi Lake or Cuihu Lake. Most importantly, the room was large and had a washing machine, which made me feel at home.

Back in Dali again, this time I chose a newly opened hotel with 5-star standards and attention to detail. One of the hotel's features is its huge public area, with unobstructed views of Erhai Lake and a wide field of vision. It feels like being in the wilderness, haha! I love this hotel. It's also very beautiful and perfect for taking photos. I took a photo from one angle and it turned out amazing. The hotel provides a female photographer who can be booked at any time. The dinner provided is also great, with a Yunnan-style hot pot that is great value for money. Although it's not close to the water, I think it's much more comfortable than the waterfront hotel I stayed at last year. I love the hotel's open and boundless feeling.
