Magical hostel in Catania, Sicily
| Sicily.
Wake up every day to 17th-century paintings on the ceiling 🖼, the central square ⛪️ downstairs, the active Etna volcano 🌋 outside the window, a hearty breakfast ☕️, and free pasta 🍝 in the evening.
💡 The advantages are obvious, but there are a few disadvantages.
The location is central, and the main attractions are within walking distance. If you don't mind the noise, you can listen to street performers in your room every day 😂
On the first day, breakfast included cake, croissants, sandwiches, hot drinks, and fruit... I even skipped lunch. Free pasta is served every night at 8:30 pm, freshly made in the kitchen. Although basic, it's still quite good 🤪
You can take panoramic photos at the rooftop bar without making a purchase. It costs 7 euros to climb to the top of the Chiesa della Badia, but you can get the same view here, just a little lower, saving you 3 euros 🤣
There is a dedicated women's bathroom, the bath products smell great, but the shower is narrow, and the hairdryer is weak 🤷
The public area is beautiful, but remember that the balcony is for sunbathing, not drying clothes 💁
One big downside is that luggage can only be stored for free until 1 pm, after which there is a charge 🤨
The room is very spacious, the iron bed is average, but there are steps, which is friendly to those on the top bunk. No wonder when I sent a message asking for a lower bunk, the staff replied that I didn't need to worry 🙃
Finally, the price is only 20 euros per night 💰
*The sewer smell in the hallway 🤮
