[2025 Nagato Stay] Travel Guide for Otanisanso (Updated Mar)

This time I will introduce the hotel "Otani Sanso" located in Nagato Yumoto Onsen town in Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is also famous for being the place where a former prime minister stayed. My wife and I stayed in a room with a table with a sunken kotatsu and a view from the table. From the luxurious entrance you can see an artificial waterfall, and at night you can listen to live jazz music. Dinner included Yamaguchi's specialty puffer fish sashimi, and breakfast was a buffet with lots of freshly baked bread, and everything was delicious. Nagato Yumoto Onsen town, where Otani Sanso is located, has been working with Hoshino Resorts on various initiatives in recent years, and it was fun to walk along the river. The famous ryokan 'Otaniyama-so' in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, Yamaguchi Prefecture, operates this bakery. The bread is baked fresh every morning in the bakery workshop within the ryokan. When I stayed there a few years ago, the bread was served for breakfast and it was so delicious that I went to the bakery to buy some. This time, I stayed at a different ryokan in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, but I visited to purchase their bread. Depending on the time of day, the products may be in short supply, so it might be better to visit early. (I visited around 16:00 and the selection was limited) Even if you're not staying at the ryokan, you can still purchase the bread, so please stop by!
