Otani Sanso is a long-established inn located in Nagato, Yamaguchi! In front of the inn, there is a beautiful river and mountains, and it feels like a long-established inn surrounded by nature! In the parking lot, there is a charging space for electric cars, and although it is not a high-speed charging station, you can fill it up in about 8 hours! 🇯🇵 Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan 2023/11/24-25 📝 We received matcha and nama-Uiro as welcome drinks. One of my friends was planning to arrive late, but the staff's response at that time was polite and warm, and I felt a comfortable hospitality. The room we stayed in was a Japanese-Western type, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Since there were three of us, an extra bed was prepared. For dinner, we had a kaiseki meal that made use of local seasonal ingredients, and not only was it delicious, but the appearance and tableware were also carefully selected, so it was a feast for the eyes. There was also an open-air bath in the large public bath, and the sound of the river babbling was soothing. I took a walk around the nearby hot spring town to work up an appetite, and the autumn leaf stairs and the illuminated bridge were very beautiful. My wife and I stayed in a room with a table with a sunken kotatsu and a view from the table. The famous ryokan 'Otaniyama-so' in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, Yamaguchi Prefecture, operates this bakery. The bread is baked fresh every morning in the bakery workshop within the ryokan. When I stayed there a few years ago, the bread was served for breakfast and it was so delicious that I went to the bakery to buy some. This time, I stayed at a different ryokan in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, but I visited to purchase their bread. Depending on the time of day, the products may be in short supply, so it might be better to visit early. (I visited around 16:00 and the selection was limited) Even if you're not staying at the ryokan, you can still purchase the bread, so please stop by! | Japanese literature and art The oldest hot spring resort in Yamaguchi Prefecture. ⛩Nagato Yumoto Onsen, a 30-minute drive from Motonosumi Shrine, is the oldest hot spring in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its history can be traced back to the Muromachi period more than 600 years ago. You can also take a bus from Yamaguchi Station to Nagato Yumoto Onsen, which takes about 1 hour. ☕️ In the spring of 2020, Nagato Yumoto Onsen Street was completely renovated. With the theme of a relaxing stroll in the hot spring street, several petite and artistic coffee shops and small stores opened on both sides of the Onshin River. This is the first time I have stayed in such a large tatami hot spring hotel. The main tone of the museum is dark wood, with a retro and elegant feel. Many places are decorated with Hagi-yaki artworks, creating a strong artistic atmosphere, and all rooms have private baths. 🍷Otani Sanso is very strict in the selection of ingredients. The beef used is the best part of Yamaguchi Wagyu. Although Yamaguchi Prefecture is adjacent to Kyushu, the lobster used is Ise lobster from Mie Prefecture. More than 80% of the natural pufferfish in Japan are caught in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
