Halong Bay | It's ok to go alone! World Heritage Cruise
3 hours by bus from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam 🚌
Tours are convenient for the world heritage site of Halong Bay!
[Is it not lonely to join a tour alone?! ]
Is it hard to enjoy a tour alone?
Surprisingly, that was not the case, and I spent most of my time alone
and was able to enjoy sightseeing at my own pace.
Or rather, I don't think people from overseas are very interested in their surroundings,
and it doesn't bother me at all, compared to being alone in Japan 🤣
[Schedule🗓️]
The tour starts from the hotel around 8am.
If you are staying at a hotel in the center of Hanoi,
a tour bus will come to pick you up.
After arriving in Halong, you will be guided to a private cruise.
Inside the small cruise ship
there are tables and buffet tables lined up.
For about an hour, we had a lunch buffet while looking at Halong Bay 🍽️
I'm happy that there are many seafood dishes as well as Vietnamese dishes 🍤
First, we arrived at Sung Sot Cave.
We visited a large limestone cave.
It was cool inside, but the humidity was at its highest and I was sweating.
The cold juice they sold on the way saved me 🥤
We took a cruise ship to Luong Cave.
You can choose between a kayak or a bamboo boat.
Kayaks are for two people, so if you're traveling alone, the bamboo boat might be the safest option.
The kayakers looked like they were having fun, but
it looked like they were getting pretty wet and rowing in the direct sunlight was tough 😂
The bamboo boat peacefully swayed around the cave.
After that, we went to the highlight of the tour, Titop Island 🏝️
We had just under an hour of free time.
Some people were playing beach volleyball or other active activities on the sand, and
some people were enjoying drinks at a bar that looked like a beach hut.
I climbed up and up the stairs to the view spot.
This was really tough and I was even more sweaty than in the cave.
I recommend buying some drinks.
After all that, we reached the top, and the spectacular view in the first picture was there.
I'm glad we made it to the top😊!!
We had been climbing the stairs for about 20 minutes, and some people even gave up halfway through.
But I wanted everyone to go all the way to the top🫶
After descending, we had coconut juice🥥
I usually don't finish it, but this time I gulped it down in seconds.
We returned to the port on the cruise ship, watching the sunset.
There was a cocktail party on the rooftop on the way, but we only stopped by for a bit,
and relaxed on the deck, watching the sunset.
I get seasick, so I was worried about getting seasick on the cruise ship,
but there were very few waves and it wasn't rocking at all, so I was surprised.
I had a smoothie at the bar on the ship, and felt the breeze,
and this sunset time was very chill.
When we arrived at the port, we changed to a bus and headed to Hanoi.
On the way back, I slept like a log💤
It depends on the location of the hotel,
but in my case, they dropped me off right in front of the hotel.
[Prices to consider💸]
This one-day tour costs about 6,000 yen
and includes a lunch buffet!
The drinks at the bar on board are a little on the expensive side for Vietnam.
Smoothies are 700 yen, and cocktails are just under 1,000 yen.
Due to rules in Halong Bay, plastic bottles cannot be brought in
so we recommend buying them at bars or shops in various locations, or bringing your own water bottle.
There are quite a few types of tours from Hanoi to Halong Bay, and
there seems to be a luxury cruise as well.
There are also courses that include an overnight cruise, so
choose one that suits your itinerary✨
