Citywalk Discovery: Borneo Native Festival at Pasar Seni – A Cultural Shopping Haven
#springitinerary
Exploring the Borneo Native Festival at Pasar Seni during my Citywalk was a vibrant and enriching experience. The festival was bursting with authentic finds—beautifully crafted native shirts, intricate beadwork, handmade souvenirs, and traditional Bornean crafts that reflected the rich heritage of Sabah and Sarawak.
One unique highlight was the variety of Borneo freshwater fish and preserved delicacies rarely found in the city. The marketplace buzzed with colorful stalls, cultural performances, and the warm hospitality of indigenous artisans. It’s a paradise for those who love culture, food, and shopping in one place. Whether you’re hunting for unique gifts or just enjoying the atmosphere, this festival is a must-visit celebration of East Malaysian culture in the heart of KL.

City Walk Spring Itinerary
#springitinerary
On day 3 of our spring itinerary, we have decided to take a city walk to explore the place. We walked around the Bukit Bintang area and the pasar seni area to have our local street food breakfast there. We had the famous chicken rice as well as the black soya sauce Malaysia styled wanton mee. They both tasted great. The walk was relaxing. We get to see several hotels and landmarks along the way too.

Night Whispers of Heritage at Pasar Seni
Title: Echoes After Hours at Pasar Seni
When the shutters fall and shops close at Pasar Seni, the magic doesn’t end—it transforms. The quiet streets hum with history, and the lantern-lit alleyways become a canvas for reflection. With no carbon-heavy rides, just footsteps and fresh air, it’s a sustainable, soul-soothing experience under the KL night sky. A moment where stillness speaks.

Shop, eat, and soak in culture!
#aprilblooms Pasar Seni or the central market is truly a shopping paradise where you can “shop till you drop.” The vibrant vibe of the place is infectious, and the variety of shops will keep you coming back for more. I was particularly drawn to the food stalls, with many offering delicious options like ramen and comforting traditional soups. Some of the soup offerings were especially noteworthy, serving as a unique traditional dessert that added an extra touch of authenticity to the experience. It’s the perfect blend of culture, food, and shopping—definitely a must-visit when in Kuala Lumpur!

Searching for treasures in a market filled with Malaysian traditions🛍️✨
Central Market (Pasar Seni) is one of the most popular tourist spots in Kuala Lumpur!
Established in 1888, it is now famous as a market where Malaysian traditional crafts, art, miscellaneous goods, and fashion are gathered 🇲🇾🎨
Inside the market, there are shops selling batik (traditional dyed fabric), wood carvings, silver accessories, etc., making it perfect for souvenir hunting 🎁✨
You can also enjoy local gourmet food such as hot dogs, nasi lemak, and satay at the food court 🍛🍢
Access is about a 2-minute walk from the LRT "Pasar Seni Station" 🚉
Opening hours are 10:00-20:00, so it is recommended to stop by between sightseeing ☀️
If you want to experience Malaysian culture, you can't miss this place ♩
