Traveler's Diary | The awe-inspiring 'Little Huangguoshu Waterfall' appears in the deep mountains of Ningbo during the rainy season
The awe-inspiring 'Little Huangguoshu Waterfall' appears in the deep mountains of Ningbo during the rainy season. The photography is spectacular, and the writing is profound.
Cloud Wanderer takes you to discover the beauty of the journey, niche, serene, a place you want to visit again after having been there.

Taking the road less traveled, I found an incredibly beautiful hiking trail and discovered Ningbo's 'Little Huangguoshu Waterfall'. During the rainy season, the water-rich path is continuously fed by streams and waterfalls, with new greenery blossoming, entering the most beautiful moment.
—
Originally, I was heading to the purple-red Tingxia Lake in Aodi Village, but somehow I turned into a side road. At the first hairpin turn on the Huxi Line (Ni's Bridge, with two or three households), you can park your car and follow the cement mountain road all the way to Ni's Mountain Village.
—
Location: Ni's Mountain, Huxi Line, Tingxia Lake Reservoir, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, hiking navigation to Tingxia Lake 'Ni's Bridge'.
—
The mountain road is wide enough for driving, winding quietly along the way. Admire the elegant peaks on the right side, and the majestic rock ravines (which are the continuous mountains of Xuekou Xuedou Mountain Qianzhangyan-Sanyintan line, stepping out of the mountains for a full view feels even more impressive), with the sounds of birds and mountain springs incessantly, and azaleas, paulownia, and cherry blossoms appearing from time to time.
—
Ni's Mountain Village is nearly abandoned, and following the water channel on the right side of the village without stopping, I was led into a stream and discovered a stunningly beautiful group of waterfalls hidden in the mountains.
—
Because it is hidden in the valley and has three clear pools, it is named Sanyintan. From top to bottom, they are called Upper Sanyintan, Middle Sanyintan, and Lower Sanyintan. The waterfalls, pools, and streams during the water-rich period are called the 'three wonders' of Sanyintan.
—
The twin waterfalls of Lower Sanyintan are also breathtaking at this time! The waterfall, over 40 meters high, cascades down the cliff, making a loud noise. One is solid and thick like rich nectar, the other is thin like a gauze curtain of water. Standing by the pool, with mist all around, it feels like being in a Chinese ink painting. On the rocks beside the pool, there is an inscription that reads 'Xueshan is famous in the southeast, and you won't see the wonder without reaching Sanyintan'.
—
The 'Little Huangguoshu Waterfall' should be beyond Sanyintan, located at Lover's Bridge (a rope bridge across the mountain stream), where the view from the bridge is like a miniature version.
—
The route I took was Ni's Bridge - Yansha - Ni's Mountain Village - Water Channel - Sanyintan - Lover's Bridge loop. In the deep mountain valley, the water-rich stream accompanies you all the way down. Huge rocks stand erect, steep cliffs and deep ravines, moss spots on the rocks, green branches sprawl along the ditches: 'To brew the spring mountain, monk's rooms are built with hollowed bamboo.'
