Mixue has opened its stores in Singapore and they are well known for their dancing mascots outside their shops, as well as drinks and ice cream that are extremely affordable! We tried their ice cream cone which was huge and it cost only $1! Wow, I was mind blown and it didn't taste bad, in fact the ice cream was creamy and milky and certainly yummy. Drinks wise, you can expect tons of different varieties of bubble tea. You will be so spoilt for choice. Price wise for drinks is about $2.50 for a huge cup of lemonade and ranges to about $3.50 for a huge cup of grape taro bubble tea. Nothing is above $5 on their menu. Now, you know where to cool off for the summer in Singapore. Delicious and cheap treats and drinks at Mixue is a bang for your buck!

Fancy having a buffet without feeling overstuffed after? Love your veggies? This is the place for you! At Charcoal Grill & Salad Bar Keisuke, with every main course ordered, you’ll have access to a glorious free flow salad bar. The options are varied with many raw vegetables, cooked vegetables, pickles, noodles, fruits and even dessert. My usual order is the grilled dried atka mackerel and the standard has been consistent every single time I’m there. The fish is crispy on the outside, soft and moist in the inside. The fish bones get so well charred that I could even eat them. The set comes with individually cooked rice in metal pots, miso soup and an onsen egg. Tip: mix the onsen egg together with the rice. It’s so delicious when done that way. The highlight of the meal is always the salad bar as they have my favourite mentaiko pasta and coffee jelly with cream. I could easily eat bowls of that stuff. Bonus part? The mains here are affordable and you really get the best value for money dining here.

You can find YM Bakery is a cosy little shop tucked in a corner of PLQ Mall’s basement. They sell a huge variety of tarts and a small selection of savoury pies. So there’s definitely a flavour for everyone. I got the orange pistachio tart which was topped with orange slices. The tart was not too sweet with a nice fragrance from the orange with a generous pistachio base. Also got a pecan tart which was slightly sweeter with a very yummy tart base. Would love to try more of their tarts in the future. The auntie at the store is very friendly and gave good recommendations. There are two tables at the store if you’ll like to have the tarts there. Definitely a place to come back!

Always having a queue during the evenings, this eatery seems to have a few branches though the lobster branch at Clarke quay had closed down few years ago. We had the black spicy ramen with egg (normal noodles, less oil and salt) and a soft ramen plus extra noodles (less oil and salt too), totalling $36+ for 2 adults and a toddler (whom had a fun time peeling and feasting on the free eggs) Warm water is also not chargeable and can be ordered through the QR code as well as payment. #urbanexplorer #foodie

The taste has always been up to standards, and the chain has always ensured quality of ingredients are great! The prawn ball however wasn’t as expected. The concept of serving Japanese curry rice with chosen meats in very big serving plates really catches everyone’s attention. We ordered the signature Monster Combo Curry which comprises of Chicken Katsu, Beef Shabu-Shabu, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Fish and Cheese. It is so huge. While they state that the size serves 2 paxs but probably for 2 teenage growing boys. We 3 ladies couldn’t even finish without try to stuff ourselves till 101% full. It’s really super value for money. While they are quite full house, the service from the staff is still very attentive. We enjoyed the dining experience. My side was a spicy tofu noodle salad which is favourite cold dish of mine also (I always will order this when I visit other Chinese eateries especially like those serving Dong Bei North Eastern cuisine). Instead of soup, I opted for a can of coke and they gave me in ice in their signature pouch too. Overall, a true blue, savoury Sichuan favourite that goes down well with rice lol. Always my favourite to go / MustVisit eatery when I have cravings for Sichuan food lol. They have 10 outlets across the island and more is in the plan, according to their website. The shop was almost filled and you can see it attracts both older customers for the traditional Chinese desserts and the younger ones for the chilled/iced desserts. We ordered the mango sticky rice with black glutinous rice and taro paste. And the more traditional one of almond paste with glutinous rice. The mango version is just average in my opinion. They tried to include too much variety into a single dessert. Value for money perhaps but just too much texture. The traditional almond paste is really good. Very smooth with the right consistency without feeling the “sandy” after taste. Very fragrant and not too sweet. The long queue no longer forms at Paya Lebar Square (first outlet in Singapore) when the other 3 newer outlets at VivoCity, Chinatown Point and 313@Somerset came. Hence I jumped at the opportunity to try the raved signature drink, Original Soy Milk Tea with White Jade Balls. The special here is they use the traditional way of stone grinding the good quality soybeans to generate the soy milk. The signature drink comes with soy foam and mocha balls which is very fluffy and chewy. Soybean powder is also generously sprinkled on top. There’s also tofu in the drink giving another texture to the whole presentation. The whole experience is really lifted with the various layering (有层次感). Really love the drink. Chinese Tofu Magician stands out with its menu based on soy milk. They make their soy milk in house using ancient stone-grinding techniques. We ordered the matcha one which is a new flavour. Love the rich matcha taste combined with soy milk and the texture of the chewy mochi ball. Other than the outlet at Paya Lebar, there are another three more outlets around Singapore. As per the shop name, the menu mainly serve Charcoal-grilled traditional fish dishes + chicken. We ordered a charcoal-grilled mackerel & salmon, & the chef will start to cook once ordered. Meanwhile, they will serve some salad, onsen egg & some Japanese side dishes where you can eat while waiting for the main dishes. You are also able to customize your order of salad if you want more. I love the way they serve the rice in a small iron pot of which it keeps the rice hot & fluffy. They served the fish with small sides of potato, radish & cheese too, & also come with miso soup as well. Both the fish dishes are of nice reasonable sizes. Lastly, after finishing all the main & sides, it's time for fruits (watermelon & orange) & coffee jelly. Free flow as well too. Very full after finishing the meal ☺️ The restaurant is also very popular as we saw a constant queue of customers outside throughout our visit. Do come earlier if you visit.

Some of the outlets are at North point, Star vista, Woodlands Square, Rivervale mall, West Gate etc. I have ordered their dessert multiple times through food delivery apps. Some of the items that I usually ordered are the honey dew sago, Honey dew snowy ice, Sesame paste with tang yuan, tang yuan in ginger soup , golden milk cubes and matcha snowy ice. #meetsingapore I went to buy dinner at Paya Lebar Square when I came across this Chinese store called Qin Ji Rougamo. Qin Ji Rougamo sells food from Shan Xi and Si Chuan. Knowing my wife loves cold noodles skin, I went to order takeaway for her. I also ordered their signature snack - Qinji Pork Rougamo. Thus, I brought back the food home and eat it together with my wife. We really loved the food. The Qinji pork Rougamo and the cold noodles skin were really very delicious. Price per Person - $6 Rating - 3.5/5 It's like bubble tea but instead of using the usual milk based, this tastes special as it is soya bean based. The 'tofu' is actually thick beancrubs inside the drinks if you. choose their signature drinks. Their highlight for the signature drinks is actually the mocha balls that you are supposed to dip inside the drink as the top layer have a very thick cream cheese and you eat it after dipping since the mochi is tasteless.
