This is also a must go place for locals, especially for students, as evident from the many school trips that are organised to this place. There is a museum that depict the timeline of events in World War II and the dropping of the atomic bomb which ended the war. There is also a life size model of how the atomic bomb looks like on the inside, and the actual size of the bombs. For the outdoor park, there is the Peace Statue representing the hope for peace, and other monuments and memorials are also set up in memory of the victims who suffered and died from the bombing. On the right hand, the index finger is pointing to the sky, indicating that the atomic bomb has fallen. The right hand is flat and the palm is facing down, wishing the world Antai. World Peace. The peaceful spring on the side of the park means giving a glass of water to the tragic souls killed in the disaster and praying for their blessings. Although I have not experienced war myself, I believe it is essential for Japan to continue conveying past experiences to future generations and wishing for peace through places like Peace Park. The atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, leading to the end of the war. Despite becoming a defeated nation, I felt grateful for being able to live in peace now as I looked at the park's monuments. The right hand of the Peace Statue pointing upwards symbolizes the threat of the atomic bomb, while the left hand stretched out horizontally represents peace. July 2018 #NagasakiTravel #I first recognized the name Nagasaki when I heard that it was one of the two cities that were hit by the atomic bomb. Of course, there were places related to it in the city, and I couldn't help but stop by here. I got off the tram at Matsuyamamachi and found #NagasakiPeacePark. I could see the air-raid shelters where people took refuge when the atomic bomb was dropped, and inside the park, there were various art pieces that yearned for peace. I read the information boards carefully, and although they didn't say it out loud, they seemed to be emphasizing that they had suffered a lot of damage. Of course, ordinary citizens suffered the pain of losing their daily lives because of the atomic bomb that suddenly fell. However, I can't deny that it was the fault of the government at the time who were trying to build the Empire of Japan... I felt complicated because they never apologized and only blamed others for the damage, or to put it harshly, they seemed to be cosplaying as victims.
